ASELSAN is working on an insect-sized flaping wing micro-UAVs

ASELSAN, which puts micro aircraft inspired by insects on its agenda, continues its efforts to produce the first insect-sized, flapping winged micro aircrafts.

Smart materials such as shape memory alloys, electroactive polymers and piezoelectric materials offer viable options due to their low weight, small size and simple design in order to avoid size and weight limitations in flaping wing micro-aircrafts.

Demonstration of the flapping mechanism concept on mini drones, last year. Much smaller, insect-sized models are currently being studying on.

The most important spec of unmanned air vehicles are operable on poor wheather conditions can be used with sar radar on very foggy day

The ŞAHİN 40 mm Physical Destruction System, developed by ASELSAN for the destruction of Mini/Micro UAVs, included in the TAF inventory.

Intense interest from abroad to the drone-hunter drone Fedai. Fedai 102, which will be used as a low-altitude air defense system at a maximum altitude of 5000 meters, is being developed for a Southeast Asian country.

HAVELSAN BAHA

Together with the command and control system developed by HAVELSAN, it will work as a fully integrated system, increasing the capabilities of the troops at the tactical level.

HAVELSAN Simulation, Autonomous and Platform Management Technologies R&D and Engineering Director Mehmet Onur Özçelik stated that BAHA is a component of an important project of HAVELSAN, “When BAHA first emerged, it was a platform used to test our domestic and national autopilot software and swarm algorithms. We have developed our algorithms on this platform. We wanted to test the improvements made in the regions where our armed forces are located, and we went to many areas. Our aim in doing this was primarily to correctly define, see and test the need of our armed forces in the region. However, we have also developed and improved this test platform itself.” said.
