Default Re: Maldives to outlaw places of worship for non-Muslims

Such sort of statements sound very harsh to non muslims like me. I have heard similar statements repeated over and over again by various people.

What I would like to know is how does a moderate Muslim from predominantly Islamic countries feel when such statements are made by people in power. Do you consider it to be just or do you feel such sort of laws simply work towards spreading more hatred. Would you like to be treated in a similar manner with a different set of rules applicable to you when you move to live among an other culture.

Please do not mis-understand my question. The reason I ask this question is because I am myself a migrant who lives in a foreign culture. When such kindof statements are made, it simply serves to harden anti-migrant sentiments.
