^^^ Awcome video. Little too much dramatic background music, but it is crazy.
The last successful modal was alot better as it allowed you to slam into planet yet survive the fall was blocked by the cushions on 2 rovers that successfully landed before
This method has a flaw which is the Parachute , the parachute if it will fail Mission is OVER ...
I find it very difficult that the Parachute will be able to slow down the Capsule it will likely rip into shreads
I also wonder if a parachute would perform if there happens to be a storm or atmospheric disturbances at the moment. You would try to make the operations as immune to external factors as possible.
The previous landings by Spirit and Opportunity also use parachutes. I'm more worry about the failing of the propulsion that stays float and upright to drop the rover. Does it have thrusters on top to reorient itself? I like the more simple cushion landing one but its not my rover. Let them do what they want and hope it works.
