Just as they are starting to grow, Walmart, large group, many suppliers, opportunities for lots of small companies to get contracts outside of the typical multi-leveled, rent seeking, supply chains, and for entrepreneurship to grow more broadly to small manufacturers. A politically motivated, benefits long-term renters, against potential for greater, broad based support.
A small towel maker in India, could get a two-year contract from Walmart to make hand-towels for washing, could take that contract to the bank, and get a secured loan, double their operations, invest in technology, and hire workers. Production In, and for, the domestic market.
    What exactly are you supporting?

I believe there is substance in what Obama said but he should not have said what he said publicly. He could have phoned MMS and said what he had to but choosing to use media in an election year actually questions his intentions in making the statement.

If we want world to take us seriously we have to start replying back with authority and what's better than doing it with UK.

Did you read their news column, did you watch their talk shows, they are asking need of our space program, and why did they make such a hue and cry AFTER we rejected Eurofighter? Watch it on youtube, you will get my point.

If we want to be taken as permanent member of UNSC, we have to act like one. Do China make formal discussion when SCS is concerned. they deploy boats and warships, challenge US not to come in middle, what did we see, US left Phillipines alone, and TIMES reported it as a Chinese win. Gone were the days when we had to ask powerful countries like US, USSR(then) to act as a middleman.

Indian companies are providing thousands of jobs in UK and US. And they are giving aid to NGOs not Indian government. Aid for poor people, and if they are doing it for humanity then why ask Indian govt. to take any action, shouldn't they do it on the same reason they started with, no one takes care of these poor.

Its time we take examples and inspire from China, the way they stand to the ground, no country and I mean NO COUNTRY should dictate us what to do.....it was RBI that saved us during 2008 recession not these countries, if we would have listened to them then and didn't follow our own policy, we would have been in a big mess like Europe. Instead we are growing like China, slowly but not going bankrupt.

India can hit back with whining for public consumption but at the end india has to oblige. Indian IT growth curtailed. One simple regulation change in US will bring indian IT gravy train to stop. Can indian really take grand stand with such dependency and weak economic situation?

    at bolded part> right

but credit goes to lefts too

many people say, that, left parties opposed the reforms in banking and many sectors and halted them

had these reforms been undertaken, our banking sector would have faced crisis in 2008

The main problem with the West today is that India is not making adequate reforms so as to open up the economy to the western retail industry. This is something that is bound to happen in due course but the Americans are trying to hasten the process by doing all that they have in their power like downgrading credit rating and all tht BS and forcing the GoI!!But India being strong and self reliant did not and will not give in!!
