This is NOT a development this is destruction and burden for Bangladesh. Bangladesh by no means should bear the destruction and burden for indian development. But offcourse Awami league regime thinking and acting like Bangladesh is an indian state and so destroying river, infrastructure, live and livelihood of Bangladeshi people for indian development.

India should use its own territory or alternative way to do transport to and from NE. NOT exploiting other country using puppet regime like Awami League.

Simple why dont you guys initiate a nation wide protest and stop and oppose this treaty...This will result in stopping or scrapping this treaty....Its almost more than a year that this treaty is signed ....buy why there is nothing serious agitation is going on for this issue in BD?

Yes opposition political parties had been soft but there are reasons:

1) Arrest with false case, torture and killing of opposition.
2) Extensive benefit from transit propaganda was done, all of which are already proven big fat lie.
3) None of the treaty was made public or presented to Parliament as per constitutional requirement. So general people were in dark.
4) Terrorism on media by both Awami regime and Awami regime selected courts. So media could not talk in public interest.

Why do you think agitation has to be led by political parties.
Arab spring is the biggest news of the year, which is a people's movement.
Anti corruption drive in India ,is a people's movement which some parties are forced to support.

So the absence of any agitation means, they either support it, or simply dont care.

ক্ষণজন্মা সাহিত্যিক অদ্বৈত মল্লবর্মণের জন্মদিন গেল কদিন আগে। এদিকে নদীর বুকে গড়া বিকল্প রাস্তার কারণে মুমূর্ষু তিতাস। কেমন আছে তিতাসপারের মানুষ? তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম উপন্যাসের সেই মালোরাই বা আছে কেমন? ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার গোকর্ণঘাট ও আখাউড়া ঘুরে এসে লিখেছেন
ইকবাল হোসাইন চৌধুরী।

তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম। তার কূলজোড়া জল, বুকভরা ঢেউ, প্রাণভরা উচ্ছ্বাস। স্বপ্নের ছন্দে সে বহিয়া যায়। ভোরের হাওয়ায় তার তন্দ্রা ভাঙ্গে, দিনের সূর্য তাকে তাতায়; রাতে চাঁদ ও তারারা তাকে নিয়া ঘুম পাড়াইতে বসে, কিন্তু পারে না।

তিতাসের ঠিক পেটের ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে অদ্বৈত মল্লবর্মণের উপন্যাসের লাইন মনে পড়বে, এ-ই তো স্বাভাবিক। কিন্তু কোথায় সে তিতাস? কোড্ডা বাঁধ এলাকায়, নড়বড়ে কংক্রিটের সেতুর ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে আমরা ইতিউতি তাকাই। উপন্যাসে বর্ণিত তিতাসের খোঁজ করি। বুকভরা ঢেউয়ের বদলে চোখে পড়ে নদীর বুকে গজিয়ে ওঠা রাজ্যের কচুরিপানা; কচুরিপানাখেকো গরুর পাল, একটা নিঃসঙ্গ বক, নদীর বুকে জেগে ওঠা চরে ইরি ধান লাগাতে ব্যস্ত কৃষককুল আর দু-তিনটে ট্রাক্টর। কেবল দিগন্তরেখার দিকে, যেখানে পাক খাচ্ছে শীতের হালকা কুয়াশা, সেদিকে তাকালেই তিতাসের পুরোনো রূপের খানিকটা দেখা মেলে। দূরে হুইসেল বাজে। ঝমঝম শব্দ হয়। প্রচণ্ড শব্দে পাশের রেলসেতু, এপাশের কংক্রিটের সেতুসুদ্ধ কাঁপিয়ে আন্তনগর রেলগাড়ি চলে যায়, আর তখনই আমাদের চোখ পড়ে নিচে। তিতাসের ঠিক বুক চিরে চলে গেছে লালচে মাটির বিকল্প রাস্তা। ১৩০ কি তারও বেশি চাকার ভারতীয় পণ্যবাহী ট্রেইলার থেমে আছে বিকল্প রাস্তার শেষ মাথায়। সেতুর পাশের ঢাল বেয়ে নিচে নামলে চোখে পড়ে দুটো কচুরিপানার দঙ্গলে আটকে থাকা দুটো মালবাহী নৌকা। আর এগোনোর পথ নেই। নাওয়ের নাম ভাগ্যলক্ষ্মী। বিকল্প রাস্তায় মাথা ঠেকিয়ে ‘ভাগ্যলক্ষ্মী’ যেন মাথা কুটে মরছে। যখন এই রাস্তা ছিল না, নদী বেয়ে ‘ভাগ্যলক্ষ্মী’রা একটানে চলে যেত আখাউড়া বড়বাজার।
নৌকা থেকে সরাসরি মাল উঠত বাজারে। এখন সেই দিন নেই। দস্তুরমতো নদী দুই ভাগ করে দিয়ে তৈরি হয়েছে বিকল্প রাস্তা। মাল খালাস করতে হয় বিকল্প রাস্তার ওপরেই। সেখান থেকে ট্রাক্টরে চড়ে মাল যায় বাজারে। ‘ভাগ্যলক্ষ্মী’র চইয়ের নিচে মুখ বেজার করে বসে ছিলেন মাঝি স্বদেশ চন্দ্র দাশ। কোটরাগত চোখ। কণ্ঠার হাড় বেরিয়ে আছে। মুখে খোঁচা খোঁচা দাড়ি। সেই বাপ-চাচার আমল থেকে তিতাস গাঙের মাঝি স্বদেশ। কথা বলতে মুখিয়েই ছিলেন সম্ভবত।
‘নৌকা চালাই। ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া থেকে আদা, লবণ, পিঁয়াজ, তেল, ময়দা নিয়া যাই। দেড় বছর ধইরা ম্যালা কষ্ট করতেছি। এই বাঁধটার (বিকল্প রাস্তা) কারণে আমাদের সবই অসুবিধা। আগে ষোলোআনা থেইকা এখন চাইরানাও আয় হয় না। খাওনের কষ্ট। এক বেলা খাই তো তিন বেলা খাই না। আমরা চাই, খালি তারা এই বানটা কাইট দিক।’
পাশের নৌকায় বসে এতক্ষণ সব শুনছিলেন আরেক মাঝি স্বদীপ দাশ। গলা মেলালেন স্বদেশ চন্দ্র দাশের সঙ্গে।
‘বাঁধের কারণে মাল আনা-নেওয়া করতে খরচা লাগে বেশি। রাস্তার কারণে ডাকাতি বাড়ছে। সেই দিনগা আমার মোবাইল-টাকাপয়সা নিয়া গেছে গা...’ আরও কিছু বলতে যাচ্ছিলেন স্বদীপ। এর মধ্যেই ওপরে রেলসেতুতে আরেকটা ট্রেন আসে। তাঁর কণ্ঠ চাপা পড়ে যায়। আমরা সে সুযোগে এসব ম্লান মুখ মাঝিকে ছেড়ে সেতুর উল্টো পাড়ে যাই। সেখানেও সেই একই হাহাকার। ডিঙি নৌকায় বসে বিরস মুখে হুক্কা টানছিলেন হারাধন দাশ, অর্জুন দাশ, নিরোদ মোহন প্রমুখ জেলে। সেই ভোরবেলা তিতাসের বুকে মাছ ধরতে বেরিয়েছেন তাঁরা ছয়জন। এই ভরদুপুরে এসে প্রাপ্তি বলতে খলুইয়ে জমা হয়েছে তিনটে মাঝারি আকারের বোয়াল মাছ।
‘আগে মনে করেন ২০-২৫ হাত জল ছিল এইখানে। এহন বাঁধের কারণে জল চলাচল করতে পারে না। পাঁচ-ছয় হাত পানিও নাই। তার কারণে মাছও নাই।’ বলতে বলতে জেলে দল নৌকা ঘোরায়। অভাব-অভিযোগ জানিয়ে খুব বেশি লাভ হয় না—এটা সম্ভবত এদ্দিনে বেশ বুঝে গেছেন তাঁরা।
তিতাসপারের খড়মপুরের বাসিন্দা জেলে রাধারমণ দাস (৫৮) বলেন, ‘তিতাসে আগে জাল ফালাইলে ১০ থেকে ১৫ জাল্লা মিলেও তুলতে পারতাম না। এখন নদীতে মাছ নাই। আর নদীর মাইঝখানে যে বান দিছে, এর লাইগা এখন এই দিগে মাছও ভিড়ে না।’
তিতাসের পাড় থেকে খানিক দূরে তাকালেই দূরে চোখে পড়ে ঢিবির মতো উঁচু হয়ে থাকা ঘন গাছগাছালির সারি। ওগুলো মানুষের বসতবাড়ি। ধানখেতের আইল, দুটো ন্যাড়া মাথার অচিন বৃক্ষ, একটা ছোট কালভার্ট ইত্যাদি পেরিয়ে আমরা তেমনই একটা ভিটেতে পা রাখি। ভিটের মুখেই বসে বিড়ি ফুঁকছিলেন মস্তু ভুঁইয়া। পেশায় বর্গাচাষি। নদীর বুকে বাঁধ নিয়ে বেজায় আপত্তি এই ৬৫ কি ৭০ বছর বয়সী মানুষটারও।
‘বাঁধের কারণে উজানের পানি সরতে পারে না। ফসলাদি নষ্ট হয়।’
চাষের পানি তা-ও এখন পাওয়া যাচ্ছে, কিন্তু কদিন পরে নদীর বুক শুকিয়ে গেলে পানি কোথায় মিলবে জানেন না এই প্রবীণ চাষি। মস্তু ভুঁইয়ার সঙ্গে কথা বলতে বলতে বাড়ি থেকে বেরিয়ে আসে সৌদি আরবপ্রবাসী জোয়ান ছেলে আলমগীর। তারপর বলে সেই চিরাচরিত কথা, ‘ভাই, আমাদের জন্য কিছু ল্যাখেন। বাঁধ হওয়ার পর থেইকা এইখানে রাইতে চলাফেরা হেভি রিস্ক। নানান এলাকার মানুষ আসে। সরকার যদি এখানে অন্তত একটা পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির ব্যবস্থা করে।’
পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির ব্যবস্থা কীভাবে হয়? কেন বহতা নদীর বুক চিরে তৈরি হয় বিকল্প সড়ক? গাঙ শুকিয়ে গেলে মাঝিরা কীভাবে বাঁচে? তিতাসের কূল ঘেঁষে শ্যামনগর, খড়মপুর ঘুরতে ঘুরতে এসব বিবিধ প্রশ্ন এসে আমাদের জাপটে ধরে। প্রশ্নের যন্ত্রণা থেকে বাঁচতে আমরা আবার পড়িমরি কোড্ডা বাঁধ এলাকার পিচঢালা রাস্তায় উঠে আসি। সেখান থেকে মোটরসাইকেলযোগে সোজা আখাউড়া। তারপর আখাউড়া টু ঢাকা, মহানগর গোধূলী। কু-ঝিকঝিক, কু-ঝিকঝিক।

Ghaddar-e-Abrar la-hasina knows it well that her party did not come to power with the full support of the Bangladeshi people. She knows it well that it was the manipulations of her Indian Hindu masters. She is punishing Bangladeshis for abandoning her while fulfilling the wishes of her masters.
