CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel held two Indian cattle traders from Shibganj Upazila on allegation of illegal intrusion into Bangladesh land on early Friday.

The detainees were identified as Mostaser, 26, and Aliul, 25.

Locals said five cattle traders entered into Bangladesh cutting the barbed-wire fence at around 5am.

Later, Mostaser and Aliul went to Abed Ali’s residence at Dhanipara village under Shibganj upazila for taking money of the sold cattle.

On information, BGB Shialmara camp members raided the house and held two Indian nationals. They are trying to detain three other Indian traders.

Shialmara Company Commanders Headquarters Subedar Golam Rabbani told banglanews, “A flag meeting is scheduled to be held in the afternoon over the matter. The Indian nationals would be handed over to BSF during the meeting.”

Bangladesh should be merciful to them. All the bordering region of Bangladesh in india depend and survive by smuggling goods to Bangladesh and it account 3-5 billion usd. If it is stopped all the economy of those region will be busted.

See what I said earlier is eventually comes true. If poor Bangladeshis will stop going to India to get the cows then Indian will come to Bangladesh. Exactly the same thing has happened.

BSF do not kill if they are provided with the bribe money they demands. Every year more then 1.5 million cows come to Bangladesh from India and 500K alone during eid ul adha. It does not happen without active participation and approval of the BSF. Some more corrupt BSF just kill the cow trader and resell those cows again to make more money. This is the difference. What I said excluding other smuggling goods.

BGB is not merciless, coward and human right violator like the BSF. Thats why they have followed the procedure to deal with the smuggler.

This is not about crossing border but smuggling. All the Indian region bordering Bangladesh survive with these smuggling. Believe me 3-5 billion usd is not a small money. Now many people even sell their mother for 1000 dollar and it is up to 5 billion usd. BSF takes active part in it and by getting bribe let it happen.

What Bangladeshis complaints is killing of cow traders for not getting bribe money by BSF. This is clearly a human right violation. No one supported or would object if Indians legal procedure is followed to deal with smuggler.

These poor are people just trying to live.
