Thanks for valuable info you provided about NE, we were in dark. If you are a girl (your pic says so), just never tell anything against your central noble govt. and save yourself from being raped. The troop of beasts named AFSPA (or something like that..the combined force) are well known about firing rebel and raping girl of NE lawfully without any complain against them like bsf beasts. As media access is not allowed there, no one in the world will know about your destiny.
Wow! did you even put an effort to read the post you quoted? Or is your mind hot-wired to type specific strings like ' Rape, AFSPA, Rebel.." whenever you read the term NE anywhere.

And no media access? How do you even think the person managed to connect to a forum if there were no media access?

NE transit route cost us double but how much extra transportation cost is BD paying for importing cotton from Uzbekistan instead of India.
You don't know what you are talking about, BD has been importing CIS cotton (Uzbekistan)for a long time, Bangladesh also imports Shankar-6 (Indian cotton), India simply cannot keep up with our rising demand so we are just increasing our diplomacy with uzbekistan for more cotton import. Besides, Indian cotton and Uzbekistan cotton are both crap....Indian cotton is slightly a bit more crappier than uzbeki cotton. It all depends what the buyer of the garments want, so you have to diversify the cotton production in your mill.

@ Planetsoldier .... I think it is time to come back to planet earth .AFSPA name of a law in effect in some places of ne . not denying it and it is very difficult for common people.

"are well known about firing rebel and raping girl of NE lawfully without any complain against them like bsf beasts. As media access is not allowed there, no one in the world will know about your destiny."

so what you want?? "rebels" insurgents/s-hos to fire arm forces before we fire back?? Lots of local are serving in arm forces too. As for BSF , I think they are doing a great job keeping some s-hos from pole vaulting, we can`t complain.

As for RAPE CASE you are so hyper ventilating about , was the unfortunate Monoroma Devi case of manipur and the accused were all from Assam rifles, a paramillitary force and 2 of the accused among 4 are from ne itself. It is more like a neasterner raping our own, why balme others when we have that kind of SOBs among ourselve. Almost all the human right abuses are carried out by local police commandos on their own people not somebody from distant states.

As for your rant about "no media access" I bet we have more local tv stations here than your country . all independent and without restriction and you dont have to scratch you head to understand that internet is accessible to anyone here in ne who can afford , so that we can type replies to stupid comments like yours.

BTW--- the picture in avatar is LIN LAISHRAM a famous MANIPURI model (a north easterner) who have made it big in fashion industry in mumbai and newyork.

read the next line of my post and you will know, it all depends on what kind of yarn the buyer wants. Cotton is a commodity. Your farmers in maharastra would die if bangladesh and china didn't buy your cotton.

I was talking about extra cost, not about farmers of Maharashtra and this year it was Bangladesh who was shivering in fear when India stopped export of cotton. you cotton industry will go bankrupt without Indian cotton. North-East India is already getting lots of subsidies in the "special States" status, our government knows how to channelize benefits. Bangladesh is even trying for transit for electricity import from Hydroelectric rich Nepal and Bhutan and even your Khaleda Zia used to request to provide transit route to Nepal-Bhutan. Its just mutual interest that is working, so stop fantasizing.

fantasizing what? you have no idea how the cotton trade and what you are talking about. there are different grades of cotton starting from 10 comb to 120 card, indian cotton doesn't exceed more than 50-60 comb unless you mix it with other cotton yarns. If India stops exporting cottons to all other nations, your cotton industry which is bigger than your textile industry will collapse, so stop commenting on things you have no idea about.

You said Indian cotton is worse than Uzbek cotton, doesn't that mean you guys are going for more expensive cotton in lieu of Indian cotton that too miles and miles of distance far away adding high transportation cost. Could not understand your fantasy.

as i said depends what quality fabric you are looking for. Uzbek cotton is the cheapest cotton after india. Indian shankar 6 is currently trading at 1 dollar 6 cents and uzbek cotton trading for 1 dollar 8 cents, it is not much a difference. as I said, it depends which fabric you are going for...that is how you go decide which country you are going to go for. Bangladesh is not dependent on indian cotton.

Is that the cost in Bangladesh or the cost without transportation cost. Anyway, I read that Uzbek cotton is facing isolation by European and American countries.

Can you provide some links to know cotton price in Bangladesh.

I read that yarn price soured by 20-30 cents per pound in a single month because of India's ban which still show dependency Bangladesh on India.
