Dhk-Yangon flight proposal okayed

DHAKA: The Cabinet Monday endorsed a proposal for signing an accord on direct flight service between Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan came up with the disclosure to journalists after the regular cabinet meeting.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting at the secretariat in the city.
Under the agreement, a total of seven passenger and four cargo flights will shuttle between Dhaka-Yangon every week, said Bhuiyan.
Bangladesh would now send the proposal to Myanmar for its approval to begin the direct flight service, he added.
The Aviation and Tourism Ministry placed the proposal mentioning the names of Bangladesh Biman Airlines, GMG Airlines, United Airways and two Myanmar airlines for operating the flights, he added.
