1.Statistics in Burma is what somebody comfortably sitting In Naypawdaw / Rangoon jots down to suit the official line. There is no national organization to collect such data. In any case much of Burma is not under the control of the Burman Junta.
2. In actual fact around half the budget goes to the military through various methods / ruse. Much of the drug trade conducted by MIS, the Intel agency, is siphoned into the military expenditure. Mossad, Chinese MSS and Russian FSB also arranges barter of arms against drugs to put into their marketing network.
3. The Burmans are educated, sophisticated, get govt jobs and are well to do. They are the ruling class having privilege in all aspects. But others are either second class or non-citizen who are forbidden from education as schools/colleges are all govt owned. If there were any head count then the Rohingyas would not be counted as they don't exist.
