I think Pakistan isn't interested to bring back the past. At least this what I have grasp form Pakistani. They rather like to forget and forgive and move on with greater cooperation between two country. It's was a shameful event that brought upon us. Past can not be repaired yet we can learn from it and make better future. It seems bd thinking otherwise.

I don't know what will be the outcome from this recent development but I have doubt Awami true intention. Its main agenda is to cornered Islamic politics and that may just bring chaos to country. It will be foolish for awami to depend on India and believe that Islamic force disappeared from BD after this election.

No one was asking forgiveness from criminal-ALers, who happened to be the real war criminals anyway because they started to kill and rape biharies way before 25th March, 71 just to prod W Pakistanis to attack us.

What is wrong with forgive and forget? You see, it's one of the Islamic concept that preaches to forgive between Muslims. You being a Hindu may not understand the concept and apparently there are many in Bd also don't understand the beauty of forgive and forget for greater good.

When a killer is punished by death, it has 3 aspects. 1) Punishment to the perpetrator, 2) Deterrence to the society, 3) Psychological satisfaction of the bereaved, that s/he got justice. 2 & 3 are nothing but symbolic.

Has antiquity of the crime got anything to do with justice. Should a killer be let off the hook just because, several years have passed since the crime ?

Saja paoa uchit, kintu after 40 years, oporadhira hoito mrito othoba residing somewhere not known. Also evidence and witnesses are not well preserved. So, as you go about the justice it is very likely that most of the criminals remained unpunished and so I said it can only be symbolic and better something than nothing.

Awami league did not rape Biharis before 25th March 71. Please do not write crap without evidence. The whole East Pakistan was Awami League actually. I have proof for that. During 71, mukhti fighters were surrounding villages that had no form of communication access to the outside world and were raping and murdering bengali women and torching entire villages dressed in military gear. A tactic they learnt from the vietnamese who worked with the yanks and blamed it on the vietcong. Many people who identified mukhti fighters as the perpertrators were called traitors and shut up. Mukhti were also known to be active in universities and would encourage their members to dress in militaria and assault students, teachers and other people. Mukhti were also able to side with the police due to large bribes.
Another thing why do your politicians bring up 71 when they cannot meet the promises they made prior to election.
