No bro. Its a brigade strength. Both wiki and bdmil site says the same. Moreover the new SWAD pic you posted from wiki, i got that site and it again says the same.

It says "its believed to be"...so it still not 100% confirmed.

My assumption is its only a battalion.Reason being:

1.SWADS started off in 2007,during caretaker govt.So not much time to recruit a brigade.

2.The training is very tough for sailors to graduate as SWADS.As you saw in the news report,that only 59 SWADS commando graduated,not 590.So within such short period of time its probably not possible to raise a brigade.

Now these are only my opinion,I may very well be wrong.But its still very hard to digest the Brigade Strength thing.

Yes, i understand your logic bro and it is very much acceptable. But this is what i am getting every where...."brigade".....being a special force, i believe military will never expose authentic figures about SWADS. But as they are saying "...believed to be brigade strength", even in the most reliable Bangladesh Armed Forces site, i have no idea what i should conclude.....

This few swads will not do any good unless we invest in warships. Bay of bengal has ample of wealth. If we failed to control our territory than we will be the loser of this century and beyond. I do not what's in the head of present government but Bangladesh got no other option but heavly invest in military equipment including joint venture with like minded nations. The sharks are sourrounding us from all corner yet our government living in lola land.

You will have to use your eyes to see it,instead of making "Childish claims".

Look for:

Camouflage pattern .And compare it with the original SWAD member's picture.
The Pattern is exactly the same.Anyone can figure that out easily.If you can't then zoom it.
In the second pic he is not in his complete uniform.If a child like me can understand that,you should be able to understand that too Mr.Know it all.

It is good that something as SWADS who are an offensive force,is now a part of our military.We know that raising an offensive force like Marines has long been protested by our Big neighbour,I know Indian members will argue about it,but this is the inside news.
That's why our special forces were limited to 1st para commando battalion and navy seals.But introduction of SWADS is just the start,and at infancy everything looks minor.But let us give some time for this force to grow in size.

No Zakir bhai,my knowledge about procurement is limited.But I have come to know that helicopters and maritime patrol aircraft were bought for navy.Possibly a separate air wing for them also started and BAF have given trainning to BN personnel for that.

How much ever we cry about augmanting more ships here in , i am sure it will hardly change the mind of our government. We are not in power and thus what ever has to be done, will be done by GoB, albeit good or bad. We just can pray they come to their senses and realize the threats surrounding us.

About SWADS, i beg to disagree with you here. A highly-trained special team like this will certainly be a worrying factor for aggressors, even though it may be not THAT vital but still.....i am sure you know that our SWADS are trained by the two best SEALS in the world ie. US and ROK......thus, do not just throw away any possibility such capable force can do, especially when its of our country's. You should have faith in them bhai. Moreover, me and leon were going over the fact that weather its of brigade or battalion strength....though i found brigade everywhere, i also wont say that a battalion strength would be bad, even a 500-600 would be very good, given our limitations.....

This is what's irritate me about damn bharatis. I mean what is their problem if we build our military as we wish. Bangladesh can not be thinking about no damn bharatis feeling while upgrading our defence.

I have always advocate to build a solid defence relation with china and our west bro pakistan to bring about the balance of power in SA.

Claim has been made by you in post # 10 and I am seeking proof for your claim. Provide reliable proof other than bdmil style speculation. Neither wiki (not any reliable source) nor patteren and color fiction your try to propagate here are any proof.
