Thanks for the link, that is all I wanted.
It shows the unemployment rate of bangladesh(not some place that you have "seen" ) in 2009, as 2.5 (which is almost same as 2.4 that you claimed)
The source is attributed to CIA factbook, which shows unemployment rate of 5.1 percent for both 2009 and 2010.

Unemployment rate dropped from 40% to to 2.5 % within a year(2005 to 2006).

Your policy makers must have done some magic in that year, wish we had a PM/FM like your(during 2005-2006)

My tart answer was because Indians are living under the shadow of an illusion that BD is super-poor and in comparison India is super-rich. Both these assumptions are incorrect. India is our neighbouring country, we go there and we know the situation there. Indians should come to our country and see the situation here.

Because of high employment the cost of daily labourers has shot up in Bangladesh. Farmers in the villages do not find enough people to work for them, although I mast say in some pockets there are abundants. Our NGOs are also partly responsible for creating employment in the rural Bangladesh.

However, there is another thing, that is, underemployment and low efficiency of the labours. Even if it is true, then I must also say that it is better to be underemloyed and underworked rather than highly efficient with big unemployment. I am not a socialist, but I must say, full employment, however inefficient the labour force may be, is needed to create a just society in a poor country like Bangladesh, where unemployment benefits are almost non-existent.

I must also say that BD society is a close society where even the poorests survive because these people get help from others having resource to contribute.

Come to Delhi, Chandigarh,Mumbai, Banglore, Hyderbad, Nagpur, Amristar, Aurungabad, Agra, Jaislamer, Indore, Chennai and see all the advancement in infrastrructure yousrself. Nice roads, new developments, metro rails under construction, quailty of life improving, world-class hospitals, world class universities (IIT indian institure of technolgy). Does that mean India in general is like America? No. We can barely compare our cities with that of China although Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore are fast heading there. In your post you think Bangladesh 'in terms of infrastructure' is better off!!! Yeah right. Pakistan is ahead of Bangladesh and so is Sri Lanka. India>Pakistan>Sri Lanka>Banglasdesh>Nepal>Bhutan. Sorry banglis but thats the way it is. Because some parts of your country are good does not autmatically mean you have surpassed India. SOme parts of India are goos while other parts are dirt poor, but we dont compare our selvees with other countries because we know our economic situation (very stable and strong and expected to grow +8.5% in coming years), our infrastructure development (which has recently started has is going very fast and smoothly), education campaign (need not speak. A quick look at number of doctors and engineers produced per annum will sufiice, although all Indian children need to have oppurtunity to learn), our strategic ties and military cooperation...(Russia, USA, EU all fighting for military relationship with India), size of middle class.. Larger than population of America. Poverty, and ineffectiveness in theory plus current state of infrastrucuture in rural India are the 3 primary setbacks for India's development. Now even by saying all this India still remains a rather poor nation (terms of GDP per capita) and looks rich( with GDP PPP). So yes India is super rich at the same time its poor as well. Contradictory ain't it? At least we develop unlike some other nations around us...... they just post articles of super rich rickshawers 9 ok i know thats mean) but no way can you compare any south asian nation with India and prevail. Pakistan and India are the major powerhouses of South Asia whilst BD is relativaely unimportant on the world stage. Its not trolling, its true. So before you speak of ill of India look at facts, read ecnonomy articles, subscribe to few magazines, inform yourself well and them come and post on PDF.
