The Americans threatened to air drop marines and storm Beijing with its troops unless the Chinese provided medical aid to the the poor Chinese dissident. They also threatened the Chinese into submission by forcing the Chinese to ensure that his family was allowed in Beijing without hassles and that he was given medical care.

US has no leverage over china.

US needs china more than we need them.

only 15% of total chinese exports go to US and in Q1 2012, 76% of chinese growth came from domestic consumption.
vast majority of US multinationals revenue growth came from mainland chinese consumer.
america inc. will never allow its government to destory its best customer.

you are an indian, you are a colony of america, you wont understand these things.
when you gain independence and have an independent foreign policy, then lets talk.

The concept of freedom of thought and expression is difficult for you to comprehend as you live in a communist nation where they drill rubbish into you. I don't blame you for the rubbish you spew.

If you had an independent foreign policy - this would not have happened -

Hainan Island incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hahaha - An American plane comes into your territory - kills a Chinese pilot and makes an emergency landing and you allow the Americans to go scotfree. Hahahaha - forget the American pilots, the Americans even took back their plane and paid you the royal sum of $34,000 for food and lodging. Hahahhahahahaha - pathetic.

The plane went back in pieces after we disassembled it. We know everything about that plane. That's why we have AWACs and don't need to import them like some country does.

Italian marines are let go after they shot and killed 2 innocent Indians. That's because the main Indian witness was a liar and could be bought for 17 lakh. Once a European colony, always a European colony.
Determined Tiger and DF-41 ICBM thanked this.

So you are basically saying that stealing it is better than importing it - nice. And death of your air force officer and violation of your so-called sovereignty is fine. And the Americans destroyed most sensitive data - LOL - infact - they did not bothering alighting from the aircraft for 15 minutes even after you were begging them to. So much for your independent foreign policy. And Chinese AWACS ? LOL - good going.

The Chinese had demanded one million dollars compensation from the U.S. for the lost J-8 and their pilot, but this was declined and no further negotiations were held. One Republican congressman, Tom DeLay, described the episode as "communist piracy" and Chinese demands for compensation as "the deluded daydreams of a despotic regime." LOL - China. What a joke.

In countries with independent foreign policies - more organs of the state - like the judiciary get involved. But if you are a nation with no sense of self-respect like in sub-Saharan Africa or China then all you can do is CLAIM compensation and all you get in return is the middle finger.

LOL - is that what the Chinese media said? Because last I checked - in the media of the civilized, democratic nations with a free press - the Italian marines who fired the shots are still in Indian custody.

Ha - China - everything about them is a joke.

Maybe that is how colonialism is described in the Chinese media and textbooks. Those who have actually had the benefits of a proper education in a democratic nation know the facts. When you become a free nation, then let's talk.

Till then - just obey your American masters and churn out products for them in Foxconn factories whilst paying your citizens in bowls of rice.

Says the guy whose country is bombed by the Americans day in and day out and you beg for an apology and you don't even get one. No wonder you and the Chinese are thick as thieves - birds of a feather, flock together.

how can you be free when you are a colony?
your media is controlled by american corporations.
your government is controlled by american congress.

free and india should never be used in the same sentence.

as i said, when you gain independence from america then we can start taking india as an independent foreign policy., until then, india is just a vassal state of america just like japan and south korea.

having an independent foreign policy is an amazing thing, freedom is beautiful.
hope india one day can gain independence and enjoy the freedom.

BBC News - Chen affair: How US diplomatic success turned to disaster

As expected of a true thugocracy.

No wonder you don't believe we will intervene on the philippine issue if China attacks Philippine ships, China doesn't put great value in its own promises, why would they believe that of others?

I don't know... The Chinese took Askai Chin and captured nearly all pertaining Indian commanders alive pretty convincingly... I don't think the Chinese would take insults from inferior Indians seriously. At least they're being bullied by Americans... The Chinese are bullying you, lol.

LOL - it is quite appropriate that a laughing stock like China considers a victory in a minor skirmish half a century ago as a major military achievement. In a war where no formal war was declared and no treaty of surrender was ever signed - LOL

Awww - A Chinese talking about freedom is akin to a prostitute talking about celibacy - LOL - you have always been ruled and are always told what to do - that is your destiny. Perhaps one day you will evolve into a democracy after you follow India's footsteps and become a true free nation.

Do you know what a DF-41 ICBM could do to cities like New York or Los Angeles?
