In a democracy,, really a republic like the USA you have every opinion in the book,,,and with a free press,, lot of news is just written to be sensational,,,but its not the USA policy to hold other countries down, like Pakistan, India or China or even see them as competitiion.if they are better off the world is the better off including the USA....for example if Pakistan has a literacy rate over 50 percent and and percapita GDP of over 2500, it would be a better market for USA products and less inclined to follow Radical Islam,,,a prosperous china and India and Pakistan is a great market for high tech and intelectual american products...

I am of the opinon that China wont survive as a half Communist and Half Capitalist country,,,,sooner or later the stress is going to cause a lot of turmoil and India will be the dominate country, maybe even in the entire world....and we Pakistanis are going to be screwed if we dont get it togather.

For what purpose do you want to join hands with China, to annihilate yourself ? Its necessary to have good relations with China but I am happy that we got rid of that stupid leftist rants of the 1980s' about imperial America and its wrongdoings and that India is aligning with America more now.

Well, yesterday or day before yesterday i was seeing an interview of hongkong media mogul Jimmy Lai. In it he aptly said in response to the current ecnomic crises and its effect in china. He says the entire society of china is build on economic development and what it lacks is a strong moral system. And if econmy fails there is nothing else to support it, and people dont have anyting else to go back to.. be it religion..spirutality etc. I was completly in agreement with that. Inspite of all these economic development, i geniunley felt that somthng is amiss with chinese. Well i am not talking prejudistically and i would like to get a response on this point raised by Jimmy Lai from my chinese counter parts.

I am not from India, and the discussion is will China be the next greatest country in the world,, and my answer is NO,,, India will be the next greatest country in the world...Thats my opinon and I am sticking to it...you might want to learn to speak Hindu or what ever they speak in India,, might do you better then Chinese.

What is this infactuation with china..?? Respect and love china as a friend and partner..!! But your comments in the pictures of china thread are really overwhlemingly over the top and is too much sugar coated..and really overflowing with brotherly love for china..hehe why is it omar???
And i believe a country can be a super power only if there is a balance between econmoic development and moral/Spirutual development. And the country best achieves this goal will become a super power.

Well who had though that Russia can collapse? Am I suggesting that China will collapse? No. But the question I have is that how much world know about China can be authenticated. What we all here is what they tell us. Well this does not generate enough confidence.

Looking at economic rise of China, as many members will like to point at, its all due to export to the other countries, sply, western economics. Now west already struggling, this will cause slowdown in export from China. What happens is demand does not pickup in next 12 mnths, which is more feasible scenario right now. How they are going to manage this period? This is what we need to watch over next 12 mnts. China is now not a socialist country. Companies will start laying off workers. How they are going to manage this? Consider this in brackdrop of totalitarian regime where avenue for raising your concern is very limited.

Yes China can be great country going forward but there are lot of bumps in the road. So it should me more like "China can" rather than "China is"

I know a friend when I see one and China is Pakistan's best friend. I trust China more with Pakistan than Zardari and his PPP and many countries in South Asia are also realizing that China is a good friend.

Also I know an enemy when I see one and India is definately the biggest enemy of Pakistan.
