there were numerous things thatwent wrong for pakistan but the stand out has got to be the dropped catch by younis khan adn maybe umar akmal....the others were little difficult but stil should have been taken.......other points:
1) umar gul blasted for 5 fours in one over
2)we should do something with the batting order....if younis is there to play a whole 10 overs before he gets going then bring him in earlier than asad shafiq...so that younis can hold it together.....then asad then misbah.
3)POWERPLAY.....it should have been taken while afridi was still there...he was the last batsmen.....if he was waiting for harbhajan to finish his overs then he should not have played that full toss the way he did....just take it for a single!!
4) outrageous shot by hafeez...it ios close to the wide mark and he is trying to dilshan scoop it???irresponsible...he should have waited till he got about 60 then do something about that.
5)misbah tried to make it tight at the end but he has got to take singles beore the last 5 overs and try to hit fours as well before rather than just stopping it after umar gives him strike after first ball!!!....
6)fielding....gul and abdul wahab cost us 8 runs by conceding those two poor fours ....should have been saved

but full credit to abdulwahab riaz and ajmal....they were outstanding.....did well to restrict india to 260.YOUR THOUGHTS??

I think only difference between your team and our team was fielding. We took away 30 runs extra when we were batting and stopped similar 30 odd runs when you were batting. So difference of around 60 runs.

1.wrong field set by Pakistan during the mandatory powerplay..when virender sehwag gave India the huge start.

2. too slow run rate in middle overs ( i would blame Misbah alone for this..if he could hit six duirng the death overs..he certainly could hit few boundaries duirng the nmiddle overs.)

3. last but not the least...wrong selection of overs for batting powerplay..they should have takenit during 40 to 45 overs..while afrdi and misbah were at the crease.

im really baffled, we dropped record number of catches, tendulker the higher scoring guy was dropped 4 times, by this the bwlers lose confidence in attacking..

and then when we were cruising with asad and younus, asad got out which seemed to be the complete turn around with result

and who can forget worst spells of dumb guy gul, who continuously got hit for boundaries and that experienced player had no clue how to bowl properly

younus khan, such a senior player had no clue how to bat and it was so stragne and baffling indeed...

our spinners did such a good job, along with riaz, but some of the senior most guys let us down

i think the trio of younus misbah and akmal should be retired to make way of young players like hammad azam, sarfaraz ahmed etc, these guys need to be settled long before any upcoming big tournaments...

afridi need to become an attacking captain and stop persuing defensive policy

the difference was fielding.... india fielded like tigers..they gave all that they had

other than this match i think afridi as a batsmen has never done justice with his great talent as far as batting is concerned. very few in cricketing world can hit ball that hard & far as afridi can. but he always slogged never batted sensibly. pakistan has lost many matches just because of afridi's stupidity with bat.

even if there will be the weakest indian team in history and the strongest team in pakistan's history paks will still crimble because of 'immense pressure', pakistanis must go through long stages of physcological check up before getting into the team....

esp the younus batting was like he was just beginning to learn to bat and esp infront of the weak bowling of yuvraj singh, he is such an averae bowler but took 2 wickets in the end..... even tandulker would have ot 3-4 wickets for being ultra famous in india

pakistan team must be goven the test status rather then one day because these players only know how to play test cricket where they make 1 run in each over(younus khan, misbah)

our captains keep changing, younus was the best captain he was removed because of politics, shahid was soon to be removed, just 10 days before WC he wa named captain, your captain has years of experience, indian team plays more matches than pak team, sfrid has just some few WC days of experience...

now politics will again come to scene and afridi too will be removed

half of our team is young and inexperienced, damaged by serious blows before WC, is still under recovery process, our young talented bowlers were banned, our top bowling attack was removed just before WC, leading this dejected team to the semis is really a big deal and a great achievement in itself
