Work has begun on the Karachi Harbour project being jointly built by Pakistani and Chinese companies in the southern city of Karachi. The partners are China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd and the Karachi Harbour Bureau.
Since 1988, the China Harbour Engineering Company has done construction work in Karachi, helping local companies set up oil and container projects.
The current project is expected to be finished within 36 months, and is worth US$220 million.
