Not sure. Some people say it's fromthe 14th century, others say 15th. Either ways over 500 years old. Made of marble so preserved better than rock temples.

one thing i have noticed is temple in north india are mostly made of marble ...even the mail idol......and the walls,gopurams,sculptures are not as colorful as temples in south....is usage of paints prohibited there according toe the temple rituals........

Fair point.Although most temples in India were built centuries ago. There are quite a few amazing durgahs and churches here as well. There are very few major temples or other religious structures being built today.
There are concerns of religious places hoarding abnormally high amounts wealth.As long as they can be used for welfare of the people, it may make sense.
