With all above what does Mr. Nawaz Sharif expect to achieve by sending the President away???
All I can add to this is 'we are a sad nation and we deserve what we get'
If the misadventure of Kargil can be put aside, the Gen I feel was a reasonably fair man to deal with. He however fell prey to the following some of which are the bane of most dictators :
1. Sense of indispensability.
2. Disdain for political parties.
3. Poor advisors ( sacking of the judiciary).
4. Feeling that the masses loved him.
5. Having bent over once at 9/11, could not recover and fell into a ' trap' of conceding more & more to US & allies with not room to maneovre.
6. Delaying elections ( if they were held when he was on the " up", he would have reaped greater dividends- poor advisors once again.
7 Locking horns with the religious leaders . Lal Masjid etc , I feel could have been handled differently.
I may be wrong, but I feel we have not seen the last of him.
