Is it possible to make sure that religious scholars get certified or something from the government to ensure that they really are knowledgeable about the Islamic law? Stupid scholars need to be eradicated from Pakistan, the state of scholars in our country reminds of the atrocities committed by the Catholic Church in Medieval Europe. Of course that might be an extreme exaggeration, but the point gets across all the same.

As for this girl's father, if it's possible then in my opinion he should face charges relating to child abuse or something. The society needs to be better educated in regards to both religious & non-religious education, that's the only way incidents such as this one can be reduced.

This is a sad story but what is even more sad is that we have no safety net for such social injustices. That makes all of us Pakistanis guilty of neglect. We cannot just curse the stupid maulvis and walk away.

Yep it is possible..look at Saudi Arabia as a model...no one dare himself declare a self appointed mullah..and when Mushraff tried to implement the same..we had waves of protest..I think we need a Saddam or Gemal Nasser to fix our country. Gas all these mullah or sink them in the Arabian sea.

Yes a system of certification exists already..Its been there for decades....
But same way as in a university you cannot guarantee that every engineer will be a good engineer...you cant guarantee that every Graduate of a religious school will be a good graduate....People have minds of their own and choose their own destiny...

Also if in Pakistan children are taught Arabic language as per the constitution, just see how all these maulvees will loose their gosht and roti and the society can become a lot better as they will not have to refer to the maulvees or peers.

Yes, i mean the Qur'an Arabic (formal Arabic العربية الفصحى) i don't mean to teach any particular dialect, dialects evolve with time as per the people who use the language.

No relation in what you have said. Teachers of a subject teach stricktly from a syllabus and what is a fact.
While these moulvis teach OPINION only.
A single verse of the quran can have many different meanings depending on the person reading it, but 1+1 will always equal two. So no comparison.
