    Excellent ! The precision and adaptability of the Indian Navy to coordinate with USN forces speaks wonders for the IN's force projection capability. IN is becoming more and more of a blue water power.

    Ahead of the Indo-US military exercise 'Malabar' in the Bay of Bengal from April 9, guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill, one of the vessels in the seventh fleet of the United States Navy, docked at Chennai port on Saturday.

    Apart from USS Bunker Hill, crew from aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey, a logistics ship, a P-3C aircraft and a submarine will take part in the exercise, officials said.

    INS Satpura looks awesome, can't wait for the Kolkata Class Destroyers to be inducted in the IN.

    Kolkata Class Destroyers, Shivalik class and Talwar class frigates, Kamorta Class Corvettes, And INS Vikramaditya by the end of this year. That would be epic!

    The INS Satpura is impressive looking! She will be an important asset for the Indian Navy in patrolling the breadth of the Indian Ocean.

    Guys, what does the name "Satpura" mean? Advanced thanks!

    'Satpura`is a Sanskrit word,that means seven mountains(sat=seven;pura=mountain).

    The name is of a mountain range in central India

    (just from a quick wiki, take it for what it's worth)

    @Abhishek, you are quite correct.

    Just to add to the info, all these ships are named after mountains. The lead ship INS Shivalik is named for a range in NC India; while the last ship INS Sahyadri is named for the coastal range running along W India.
