Don't we already possess Pinaka with a range of 39-40 kms. Would have been a news if it was been with an extended range of 60kms.

No disrespect BRO(don't take it otherwise), but was not a news for me.

No offence mate but they have tested new fuze system in Pinaka. What is the use if we can accomplish our targets by using different type of warheads like with ET/CVT fuzes are used for providing different target effects. These include prefragmented high explosive (HE), antitank bomblet, antitank minelet, antipersonnel minelet, incendiary practice and pilot shot.

There were news like we are working on Advanced CVT fuze for pinaka mk 2 that would be having an range of 60kms but this time they have tested for 40kms.

We are in a need of indigenous CVT fuze that can create thrust to deliver warhead using an HMX-based composition for antitank bomblets and minelets, which gives respectively the penetration of 100 mm plus and 150 mm in armour over 60kms.

    So where is the news?
