Default After 20 years, R&AW upgrades to super spy jets

After 20 years, India’s external intelligence
agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) is
set to spread its wings — deep into enemy
    territory.
The agency is to acquire two Bombardier jets
    packed with Israeli multi-mission airborne
    reconnaissance and surveillance systems that
    will
multiply its capability along Pakistan and China
    borders.
The Bombardier 5000 aircraft, which will replace
two 21-year-old Gulfstream jets, will daily
collect electronic and ground intelligence 180
    km inside the neighbours’ territories.
The jets are being uploaded with electronic
intelligence collection packages in Israel and
    flight trials begin in July.
Fitted with synthetic aperture and electro-optical
radars, the jets, expected to be pressed into
service in the next two years, will be able to
monitor strategic and military activity across the
    borders.
Last June, the cabinet committee on security
quietly approved the $300m ( Rs. 1,500 crore)
deal with Israel’s ELTA, a leading defence
    electronics firm.
R&AW’s Aviation Research Centre has some 30
    airborne intelligence collection platforms but
they’re dated, with Boeing 707 and Gulfstream
jets fitted with antique analogue radars.
While both Pakistan and China have airborne
    platforms fitted with electronic and
    communication collection capability, the new
spy jets will be unmatched in the sub-continent.
The agency will be able to collect day-to-day
ground intelligence as the jets will be provide
real time data such as troop or armour
    movements for prompt reaction.
A Global 5000 can fly close to 5,000 nautical
    miles (9,300 km) non-stop at Mach 0.85
(907kmph) and can climb to 43,000 feet in 23
    minutes.
With both China and Pakistan deploying missiles
and building logistics aimed at India, the spy jets
will help make the battlefield — from low
intensity conflict in Kashmir to all out hostilities
    — more transparent with strategic (missile) alert
    capability.

India can never progress as long it keeps buying weapons simple

India doesn't have much capability to domestically produce weapons simple

I would think that drone technology would be a better bet for building a 24/7 cross border surveillance capability. I assume that these jets that RAW has purchased just fly up and down the Pakistan and China borders, for as long as crew and on-board resources allow. Drones are both cheaper and able to stay aloft for much longer. One could have a much bigger fleet for the same cost. So I'm surprised that India doesn't simply develop it own surveillance drone capability, instead.

India's military regime is a fail.

Who buys Jets all the time? Clearly we are seeing how 'weak' these people are. True engagement against enemies lies on the ground, and not in the air. Lol we are seeing a face of a female that cannot become a man.

They are developing the drones, but since its being done by government agencies, it gonna take time. While India is developing its own tech., we can't just sit idle and wait till indigenous systems are developed. If the security agencies need the equipment we either have to make it fast or buy them off the shelf. India is already planning to buy drones from the US as a package for the P8I.

So what has the land of pure, done so far. You guys haven't even gotten where India is today. Even though you guys b*t*h India you haven't even developed a dedicated space agency. Neither do you have a motor industry.

Since Israel is already a major supplier, I guess India is going with it. What I am wondering is wasn't there Israeli companies on the blacklisted?? Wonder how they got the deal through. Or are these different companies?

lol your own people are saying that they have gone worse despite economic growth. Space agency? Does that seem more important in the world than feeding the poor? Absolutley not, its just a waste of money. MOD EDIT
Having no motor industry will not kill us. People have others things to do in life other than polluting the world.

    Good morning
Hope you have woke up and had your prayers
India's milletry regime - hahahaha see your own avatar and then talk about milletry regime. Or call Parvez he can guide you
Who buys jets all the time ??? - India - nobody give us milletry aid so we have to buy them
Clearly seeing how weak these people are - Good for you. Keep it that way
Enemies lie on ground - they "lie" () or lay low ground cuz something is in air
Face of female that wishes to become a man - why disrespect for women in general ??? still that face is better than any of your country leaders at the moment who are begging USA to stop the drone stricks. Too much for omnipotent men of Pak

It is very in your own religion upon which outlines some of the gods living there.

First I,m a Christian, second so you can't achieve what India has yet you are trying to compare to it. What have you guys achieved a country filled with terrorists, daily drone strikes, bombing and what not. You can't even protect your own country from foreign countries bombing you out in the open, with all the proofs.

Even after getting the independence at the same time you had better economy, and had the backing of the US, yet where did you get? No where. You guys have no industry, no private sector capable of competing in international market yet you laugh at other. And when someone pulls on your record you pull your all weather friend to save your face.
