Default Israeli Show "Attack on Iran" Put on Ice Till Next Season

It seems like this season of the popular Israeli drama "The Attack on Iran" or "Akhesh Shlokho Makhanesh Shokholom" has come to an abrupt end, after only a few short episodes. Despite the near authentic bluster and menacing speeches by lead actors Bibi & Barak, the show suffered from a massive drop in ratings, when it became obvious that the plot line had changed very little from the previous seasons. "How can they keep feeding us the same bullcrap over and over again?" Said Darrel Jenkins of Richmond, VA, an avid viewer of the earlier seasons. "I thought them Israelis were supposed to be some kind of whizbang superheros. Thery're all talk! I ain't watchin' it no more" He added.

Shlomo Ben Eliezer, the executive producer of the show was not about to give up: "We are working hard with our writers in AIPAC. This is an existential threat to the show. It's hard to keep people interested year after year. But by g-d we are going to have a show next season, come hell or high water". On a positive note, however, CNN, Fox, MSNBC and other major networks have indicated that they will be carrying the show next season, regardless of the ratings. "The bosses and owners of the industry are a 100 per cent committed to the show. They're duty bound by their religious code to support it. It's a labor of love for them. It was never about the viewers. They will watch what they're told..." Said an anonymous industry analyst.

Damning U.S. war simulation forces Ehud Barak to reconsider attack plans; Americans pledge more money for Iron Dome antimissile system.

At 8:58 P.M. on Tuesday, Israel's 2012 war against Iran came to a quiet end. The capricious plans for a huge aerial attack were returned to the deep recesses of safes and hearts. The war may not have been canceled but it has certainly been postponed. For a while, at least, we can sound the all clear: It won't happen this year. Until further notice, Israel Air Force Flight 007 will not be taking off.

According to a war simulation conducted by the U.S. Central Command, the Iranians could kill 200 Americans with a single missile response to an Israeli attack. An investigative committee would not spare any admiral or general, minister or president. The meaning of this U.S. scenario is that the blood of these 200 would be on Israel's head.

The moment the public dispute over whether to attack Iran is put in those terms, Israel has no real option to attack in contravention of American declarations and warnings.

That's the negative side. The complementary positive side was presented this week, on Tuesday evening. At 8:20, Pentagon spokesman George Little announced that the Defense Department would be seeking more money to help Israel fund the Iron Dome antimissile defense system.

Noting that support for Israel's security was a top priority for U.S. President Barack Obama and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Little said that, given the Iron Dome system's success in intercepting 80 percent of the rockets fired from Gaza this month, the Defense Department "intends to request an appropriate level of funding to support such acquisitions, based on Israeli requirements and production capacity."

Thirty-eight minutes after that, Defense Minister Ehud Barak publicly thanked both Panetta and himself ("The decision was the result of contacts between the Defense Ministry and the Pentagon" ).

Israelis may be the world champions of chutzpah, but even biting the hand that feeds you has its limits when the bitten hand is liable to hit back. When Barak thanked the Obama administration "for helping strengthen Israel's security," he was abandoning the pretension to act against Iran without permission before the U.S. presidential elections in November.

For all intents and purposes, it was an announcement that this war was being postponed until at least the spring of 2013.

It is all being done to scare Iran into giving up its science and technology programs. It is not only nuclear. Once Iran gives up its nuclear program, then they will pressurize Iran into giving up its chemical technologies since they can be used in chemical bombs then it is going to be biotechnology since they can be used n biological weapons, then it is going to be aerospace since it can be used in missiles then mechanical and electrical technology since they can be used in making tanks etc etc.

They just want Iran to live a desert life style. That is their objective. Iran is too big and powerful for them to invade. It is all talk and screaming to scare Iranians to submission.

If Israel say they'll attack - we can be sure they wont, but if they say they wont attack - its time to be worried Its possible for Israel to force US hand on Iran, and even though US would literally go bankrupt by attacking, Israel couldnt care less as long as their objectives are met.

Absolutely! It's not about nuclear this or that. It's about putting Iran back in the box and neutralizing it as an independent power in the region. Iran is an existential threat to Israel, because it has the potential to tip the balance of power in favor of the native poeples of the region and against the newly arrived thugs. Once they browbeat Iran on the nuclear issue, they will bring up the next point of contention until they have rolled Iran back into a neutered and submissive position like most other states in the region. We've gone through this with the Russians and the British in the past century.

Iran's rights to nuclear activity are very clearly enshrined under the NPT. If we are going to make a stand, this point is as good as any for digging in...
