    Default Iran Mass-Producing Ghadir Radars

Fars News Agency :: Iran Mass-Producing Ghadir Radars

    Iran Mass-Producing Ghadir Radars
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran is mass-producing Ghadir Radar systems in great numbers, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said, adding that the radar system covers areas over 1,000 in distance.

"This radar system can cover areas around 1,100 in range and its designing and production project ended early last (Iranian) year and is now being mass-produced," Hajizadeh told FNA in an exclusive interview on Friday.

He reminded Iran's advanced radar technology, and said the country is manufacturing various radar systems in different frequencies and for different missions.

He said the IRGC was in charge of research and manufacturing the first prototypes these radar systems and then the defense ministry continues the project with mass producing them.

Iran has fielded a new radar system, a military commander said Wednesday, revealing the indigenously developed system on the third day of a 10-day military exercise.

Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guards’ aerospace division, said the new radar system, called Ghadir, was tested successfully under operational conditions.

“The Ghadir radar has been designed and built to detect airborne targets, radar-evading planes, cruise and ballistic missiles and low-orbit satellites,” Amir Ali Hajizadeh told the student news agency ISNA.

“The radar has a range of 1,100 km (680 miles) and a height of 300 km (190 miles)”, he said.WTF
Amir Ali Hajizadeh added that the “radars would remarkably increase the IRGC’s capability in identifying sea-based targets.

Earlier in the “Great Prophet 6″ exercise, Iran had test-fired surface-to-surface missiles with a maximum range of 2,000 km (1,250 miles). Such an operational range means Iran could hit Israel or U.S. bases in the region if it were attacked.

The United States and Israel have not ruled out the possibility of military strikes on Iran if diplomatic means fail to stop it developing nuclear weapons. Although Tehran insists that its uranium enrichment programme is for producing electricity, not nuclear weapons.

well that 300km altitude range make it useful for early warning against missiles ,maybe in future we here about Iranian equivalent of PAC-3
