Do not be misled by the term trainer given to L-15 trainer. Just like what PLAN called her carrier a trainer. I will not dispute the fact L-15 is designed primAry for trainer. But to think the specification of L-15 and FC-1 is totAlly different are wrong. L-15 can be pressed into a fighter/ attacker with very minor modification.

LT-15 is comparable with M-346 Master, EADS Mako/HEAT and MiG-AT.

Latest info is L-15 is a Mach 1.6 and the AI-225 afterburner gives it max 8400kg thrust. I doubt the combat radius is 550km. Given its ferry range is 3100km. Definitely comparable to FC-1.

It will be a combo of trainer Plus fighter/ attacker. Ultimate cost saver for small airforce.

Two AI-225k-25F only have 48kn in Normal modle.with thrust only M1.4 .

Agreed! But check out the countries that have bought these Chinese aircraft. Except for North Korea, Egypt and Pakistan, no other country has ever fought a war or taken part in any aerial combat! They are small nations who don't expect to go to war either. And needless to say, they can't afford the newfangled and more sophisticated aerial platforms.
