if it comes down to nukes you might as well include North Korea in the top 10 since only 9 countries +5 others have nukes or share them this is based on conventional numbers which is why Pakistan is number 15 on GF's assessment.

North Korea barely has any nukes, and very poor delivery capabilities. Then there is also the fact that they have a weak and isolated economy.

Globalfirepower considers some facts wisely, but others wrongly. Why?

They have Iran at 12, and Pakistan 3 below. Funny. How in anyway is Iran ahead of Pakistan? If the list switched spots, (Iran and Pakistan), then it will make sense if there was no nukes included.

I apologize I ment j-10. But what I heard is that the engine for the J-20 is still in progress and the first prototypes are using Saturn engines.

But still I miss wrote earlier and I'm sorry I ment J-10A

They only have produced few nuclear submarine along with some new ICBMs, but they haven't produced others since the collapse of USSR.

PAK FA is still a prototype, Su-35S has only produced 3 units so far, no modern destroyer or frigates have been produced.

its because Iran has greater conventional capability over Pakistan and better economy/economic resources also a better defense industrial base you forget that Iran is also one of the worlds largest crude oil exporters. they have the ability to sustain a long term war whereas Pakistan does not

actually it has before they had China (PRC) placed as number 2 and Russia as 3 + Brazil and Germany were apart of the top 10 until Skorea and Israel were added.

Anyways, I disagree with what you said about Iran and Pakistan. Yes, Iran has more oil, a bigger and larger economy, but look at their current situation. They are dependent on their oil, and oil alone. They are very isolated like North Korea right now as well.

You know this is probably an irrelevant question because the Armed Forces of a said country are designed and built up, over the years, as per that said country's threat assessment. UK, France, Israel, Germany etc. have done some awesome weapons development and had they the same threat assessment as say India or Pakistan...they too would be sporting half a million armies with a couple of thousand goodies ! However as it so happens that they don't so their comparison with the rest of us is pretty much irrelevant.

Except USA clearly maintains an edge over other nations, for the rest, it is hard to compare to each other.

China/Russia and UK/France are hard to compare to each other for now.

The first prototype could use the saturn engine, but it is not clear yet, since it doesn't resemble to any Russian engine like 117S or AL-31F.

The silver engine is clearly not Russian, and it is more powerful than the black one.

on the site it should say global firepower 2012 and i can assure the site has been updated because Pakistan before was 18 now it is 15.

Iran also has a larger navy than Pakistan you should compare the two countries (it lets you compare nations on the site) and see the numbers difference thats what the GF rankings are about numbers purely numbers.

Admiral Gorshkov still sits in the dock with an empty hull and the 21956 destroyer is only on the paper.

We have already built 13 stealth frigates in just 4 years and 6 Aegis destroyers in 2 years.

Sorry, but the performance of Russia after 1991 is simply disappoiting.

lol no need to get upset beta the numbers don't lie besides your own leaders have even downplayed on your capabilities which i have to say is a killer for the jingoistic military propping machine in Pakistan but still its purely numbers compare your navy to Skorea and see the difference and you'll understand what i mean.

I have heard that they have got 10-15 su-35, and r ordering 48 odd for 2 squads..
Last time i have heard that they have got stealth frigates and destroyer, where india-china are struggling...
And last but not least, u too use their weapons..so atleast by 2020 Russia will be at 2nd position..No doubt u r catchig up very rapidly but in terms of tech in weaponary u have 2 believe that u r behind them..

@Raykalm you put pakistan on 10th position this not show the true picture. and there is also massive gap between israel and pakistan. Only no. of manpower in army is not only the factor that determine the power of country.

Most of their weapons were inheritated from USSR which are now eating the dust.

We don't really care to compare with them, we are just keeping our path for our own good.

Remember we have only USA when it comes to our mind, Russia is not even in our sight.
