The terrorist attacks inside Pakistan have decreased significantly from 2009 & 2010, & continue to decrease & become more & more limited in 'scope'/area. Most of the terrorist attacks are in very specific areas, & most of the country is free from these blasts. The government is inept, but there are plenty of good options coming up in Pakistan's upcoming elections: the APML, MQM, PTI are all in my opinion, very good candidates, & they all have a much better shot than before because people are pretty despondent with the PML-N/Q & especially the PPP. Despite the Arab Spring 'revolutions' resulting in political anarchy in many nations, Pakistan & the Pakistani people have stood their ground & supported the Pakistani establishment in the fight against the terrorists, the most notable case being the operations in Kurram & Mohmand agencies. Pakistan is winning its WOT (exemplified by the operations in Swat & South Waziristan, & now in Kurram & Mohmand), however, the same cannot be said about the US & NATO efforts in Afghanistan. It is important to stabilize Afghanistan first so it does not destabilize Pakistan.

for 80% of the time if I feel other person is simply ignorant about our subcontinent (goray kalay) - I politely reply by saying I know nothing about politics so lets skip to other chapter.

For remaining 20% when the answer is necessary I I simply start by saying "look Pakistan's population is like 40% of the whole population in European Union combined"... "see Pakistan is a very large country in terms of population and size. For example if you combine the whole population of France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and so many more countries combined... Pakistan is perhaps still larger than that. In the meanwhile I am explaining its geographical location and little background about the country's history... especially post-Afghan war scenarios... most of the people are partially convinced and start saying - oh I understand you are right... 200-300 bomb blasts by 150-200 people out of 180 million large population in different parts of the country where there are no CCTV cameras and weaker security system inside the country... anything is possible

Just simple ways to keep them away from these topics and soften their heart for the people of Pakistan

Pakistan is not as dangerous as it is projected, the drone strikes should be stopped by USA, pakistan must pressurise them to a much greater extent. Pakistan is going through a tough phase, its amazing to see their resilience and hope even during these testing times. Pakistan needs our support and best wishes. A stable and united Pak will not only benefit India it will also benefit the world.

I thank you for your thought and inputs, many of my friends including co-worker ask me similar questions. I said, you see US today turned to blame Pakistan more and harrass them in order to cover their failures in Afghanistan. That's how you see it on medias.
