The RPG detonated the ordnance on board; only a small part of the explosion, mainly in the early part of the video, seems to be the RPG itself.

Well guessed Vcheng , it also is a true possibility that some reserve ordnance was being transported inside the vehicle too.

Most of advance ATGMs are capable of achieving high AOA and not to forget the RPGs can strike from anywhere and everywhere. It has a straight trajectory but what if it is fired from a building top or a hill , a tree a mountain cave ?

BMPTs also have AAPS , looks like it didn't work this time.

Unlucky crew, its usually a slim chance tht the ammo rack get blown , penetrating antitank rockets usually go for the ammo rack for max effect.

ya, its what we call secondary explosion normally caused due to the fuel or ordinance on board the target.. the crew was already dead from the original blast of the RGP.

this could have been a HEAT charge that is based on a principle of a shaped charge. a coper foil within the charge jets out at a high velocity and defeats light to medium armours like that of the BMP. its doesnt really have a high fragmentation but enough to shred the fellow human beings into small bits.

this weapon is immune to all counter measures and doesnt distinguish between the faithful and the faithless. a favourite weapon of choice of the terrorists like in this video.


having seen the death and destruction up close I wont celebrate the death of the crew. I leave it to our desensitised internet community which draws pleasure from the death of the human beings.


this video has just made me feel sick and reminded me of a BLA attack on FC vehicle, it too exploded just like this but that was due to an IED that was enough to blow up a tank. a more regular spectacle is played out in Parachinar where the faithful ambush the conveys of shia's if you are quick you can find an uploaded video on youtube celebrating their deaths before its removed for too much blood and gore.

It's not clear for me whether it's a tank or a BMPT. As far as I know, only few were delivered to Russian army, and non were exported. I think, it's BMP-1 which has such a fragile amour protection which can be penetrated by even a 14 mm machine gun. A Molotov can stop it if was thrown on the engine vent. Very weak and ineffective AFV.
