I wouldn't be surprised if a coup was on the cards. The recent developments have shown that the country has hit the bottom... and after the NATO turmoil, it seems the Army is on top of the govt anyways.

Hope a coup will be able to check the fall into abyss... sooner the better.

LoL, I really have had no inclinations to respond to your posts ever after i had once read your comments swearing that none of your generations have even set foot in what is now India. you are so non Indian but now that you have responded to me, I must say that it is not Pakistan that you love but Pakistani Punjab. Short while ago I was reading another thread about new provinces in pakistan and you were pretty gleeful while suggesting that Baluchistan, Sindh and NWFP must be divided before Punjab and then the states should be treated on merit! Should I now see your comments as that of love for the Punjabi Pakistani Army or as hate for the sindhi and seraiki Zardari and Gilani? Please respond calmly if you have to. Your (expected from earlier instances) vitriol against India or me will not make any difference to anything in the world. I assure you of that. (I do not mean to say that your diatribes could be so insignificant even if that is how it may be reflecting from this conversation). And my comments were in light of the understanding of the other friend =@jonAsad who realized the different role that army has than what it is trying to accomplish in Pakistan.

Coup or whatever, that is secondary ....

First of all what we would like to see is

    Zardari's escape blocked,

Zardari, Rehman Malik, Jahangir Badar, Naik, Kaira and Gillani getting a a$$ whipping. Publicly Taliban style.

people need to choose between a crook and then bigger crook. But i think Democracy should give a long time chance to prove it's worth. Military rule has been only damaged Pakistan.

But they are your elected representatives. When you guys yourselves stop respecting your constitution and your democracy, how can you expect your leaders to?

BTW, the very reason your country is in the mess it is in is because deemocracy was never given a decent time to take hold there.

Everytime you guys get impatient and call for the army.

You have to understand that it is not the job of the Generals to run countries.

COAS (correctly) has taken this particular statement from Gilani as a personal insult. COAS was on an official visit to China. Gilani chose to give a statement to a Chinese newspaper which is a direct insult to the COAS. This statement was a direct kick in the teeth of COAS and this is why Kayani has reacted angrily.

Remember, Gilani also said that "who gave visa to Osama Bin Laden" (Osama yahan kiss visa per aya tha ??). Army chose to ignore that statement but this one cannot be ignored.

That would be the worst decision the Army could make and knowing how the decision makers of the Army operate, i dont think the Army will intervene and remove the current government. The current Government knows that it is an absolute failure and has no chance of winning the next election due to its severe incompetence. This is why they are fingering the Army to intervene so they can proclaim themselves to the martyrs of democracy.

General Kayani is a professional and i have full confidence that he will not intervene to unseat the PM and President. Let the SC do its job as they will humiliate the PPP Government for their loot mar and ghunda gardi. Its about time that we stop implementing band aid solutions and cure the disease instead of illness.
