Default Musharraf - a true liar

Remember how Musharraf said he would return during Jan, 2012? He said something among the lines of "I'm not afraid to risk my life for Pakistan." Then he delayed it to his original date of March, 2012 - once again, saying that he will come back and isn't afraid if he would die.

Well, look at what a hypocritical pathetic betraying liar he is.

It's almost May, and no sign of him coming back for his "beloved Pakistan".

@Z9 ec: How will you defend Mush Mush now?

You fool, Musharraf was 100x better than the current lot we have today.
He brought a certain feeling of prosperity and a way forward for Pakistan, something the current leaders are not capable of doing.

He will die drinking away? He achieved more than you could ever dream of, show some respect for someone who has served our armed forces for so many years, and also served in charge of our country as a General and President.

I think Musharraf made a wise decision delaying his return to Pakistan. It would be futile to be locked in jail by the current PPP-led government.
Just wait for fresh elections and a breathe of fresh air in the country, and then return.

Say what you want about Musharraf, but untill this day, he was the only man in charge of Pakistan who was not bent on looting the country, he was not corrupt.

If Mushraff is a lair those sitting on president chair arent saints either. This is just opportunist propaganda.

The biggest lairs are those sitting in senate right now who are telling the fairy tales of record economic growth when the unemployment and electrcity crisis is rising day by day.

Musharraf's time was unarguably the most economically sound period we have seen in the last 3 decades. And to quote Clinton:
    "It's the economy stupid".

I don’t intend to defend Musharaf on his unconstitutional rule on the country for so long, but I will say atleast country did quite well in his tenure economically. What I am going to discuss here are his 2 major follies which are the main play cards with his opponents.

    1. Lal Mosque incident
    2. Bugti murder

IMO the incident of Lal Mosque could have been defused in a much more peaceful manner, however if you guys remember it was the media of the time which pumped up the scene demanding for immediate action against the self style policing practice being carried out by the representatives of Lal Mosque. And when Musharaf did, what exactly was being asked by the media, suddenly he became the Villain.

Same was the case in Akbar Bugti episode. Again it was our media which created the hype that a state within state should not be allowed. Security forces moved in to establish the writ of the law, and caught up with Bugti in a cave. Allegedly (facts remains to be ascertained) some senior officer moved in the cave Bugti was present to negotiate the surrendering terms and Bugti detonated the dynamite attached to the cave killing all within. Whatever the case was, Musharaf ended up being the guilty party.

Ironically the major cause of his downfall was media, the same media he was so proud of giving the unprecedented freedom .

According to the law of the constitution you cannot try the Army for its actions mandated by the government of Pakistan. So you can't try him as the Army chief for killing of Bugti.

According to constitution of Pakistan you cannot try Any President, PM, Governor or Chief Minister for actions taken by his office. So you can't try him for deposing the judges on Nov 3 or ordering Bugti to be killed.

The only and only trial that can be held against him is the trial for washing the crime scene after Benazir's murder (not a trial for murdering her), in that case you will need to have something solid like a written order and what is the punishment going to be for washing the crime scene anyway? He is not charged as an accomplice or conspirator in the murder of Benazir.

PS Bugti was not murdered he took up arms against Pakistan Army and by some counts committed suicide when the PA closed in on him to arrest him.

For all his faults, I think one thing that I liked about the man, besides a certain charm and class, was the fact that he did not come across as a religious lunatic.

Its refreshing for an Indian to have an adversary who is not.

I don't know why people ridicule the lal Masjid operation and killing of Bugti.

Would you people have preferred 300 + hardcore people holed up inside a mosque middle of Islamabad and start beating and kidnapping people?

    What????

So, in reality, Gilani cannot be charged for the corruption he has done in the past 4 years?
