Its the demand of the hour-

PMLN has a chance here- it can do alliance with old friends JUIF + MQM + LM + Q league(if possible) and form government to go into next elections-

I think PMLN and LM have the number to form government in federal right now !!

ofcourse this may happen if the foreign stings attached to Nawaz sharif allow it to happen.

I think PMLN had a meeting with MQM today- add up JUIF and the magic may work- PMLN can play number game but still "a call" will be the decisive factor-

But did not the Supreme Court order the President "to ensure the continuity of the democratic process"?

Add another 25. Still short of putting a good fight

Pmln-Mqm will be bad. Yes I have heard of it but we ( supporters of Pmln ) wont be happy with Pmln-Mqm

What I have come to know till now is that Pmln is trying to bring interim govt. For this they are trying to convince Govt allies. Hence Pmln-Mqm talk. Pml-lm will be given task to negotiate with Pmlq while Fata members have admitted in Capital talk that they are in talks with Pmln. If Pmln can do this and the parties not present in NA ( JI, Pti etc ) also agree we can have early election

but quite impossible and its more likely that Pmln will nominate Mehtab Abbasi just for FUN

No, the facepalm is on you. Read the full judgement.

The Prime Minister was removed and then the President was ordered to ensure continuity. This means a new Prime Minister, not new elections.

But the action before really makes the second statement laughable, does it not?

Not laughable, but a serious matter.

The parliament has not been dismissed, nor the President. Hence the process must allow a successor to be chosen. The SC judgment does not automatically mean new elections. Not yet, anyway.

If it cares so much for democracy, why follow the way of the army to legitimately bring about a coup? The new PM won't write the letter, it's just a ridiculous waste of time. And the PM should always be continuous

from: General elections to be held in eight months, says Zardari | DAWN.COM

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari discussed the country’s current political crisis at a meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party’s leadership here Wednesday, following the Supreme Court’s verdict disqualifying his prime minister.

Addressing the meeting of the PPP’s Parliamentary Party members at the Presidency, the president said that the decision to nominate a new leader of the House would be taken in consultation with the coalition partners and in the larger national interest.

The president said that the PPP had temporarily accepted the court’s judgment, despite its reservations on the ruling, for the sake of democracy.

Moreover, he said that the next general elections would be held in eight months time.

Former prime minister and the party’s vice chairman, Yousuf Raza Gilani, who also attended the meeting, said he had worked according to the constitution and the law.

“I would continue to serve the masses and the country to the best of my capacity. I remained loyal to the party,” said Gilani.

The apex court on Tuesday had declared Yousuf Raza Gilani disqualified from holding a seat in the parliament for refusing to reopen graft cases against President Zardari.

The PPP’s Parliamentary Party members have reposed their confidence in President Zardari, authorizing him to nominate a new prime minister.

During today’s meeting, the president also briefed members on his consultations with coalition party leaders for election of a new premier.

Zardari said that the PPP did not want confrontation among state institutions, and that it would ensure that the democratic process continues without any disruption.

    A coup can be legitimate?

    FYI:

Coup = A sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government.

It would be a coup but it would just legitimise it. That doesn't mean it will be legal but if the SC is under your auspices, it will be
