But how will this help your numbers.the logic that i have been given for the prudence of proposed deal???? Are F-16's of Norway going to way better than F-16's of PAF by 2018-2020 that you will straight way move on them??? Also what is the point in using old-aircrafts for spares??? Why not buy spares directly from USA???? As we all know that USA blessing is required for re-sale to occur so in case they are willing to sell you planes why not spares???

Is PAF interested in buying used F-16s or Mr Ahmed Mukhtar? Its really surprising and confusing why PAF is going for used F-16s when we have option of JFTs and even better J-10s. I think 18 new ones and about 40 more up graded to Block 50/52 standard should be fine enough. We should invest more in other options. Someone should tell Mr Mukhtar we are talking about Fighter Planes not Shoes.

Do u mean that PAF fleet of 100+ F-16s , can counter 278 Su-30 MKIs ? I dont think so. I think Su-30 MKI is better than F-16 and JF-17 both. If Su-30 MKI is better than both, then how can F-16 fleet counter 278 Su-30 MKIs ?
Remember Indian 5th generation FGFA is also coming.
Also, dont hope that they wont come till 2018, Atleast this project will be delivered on time. i.e., 2018.

India cannot put more than 50% of power it has against Pakistan. The moment it exhausted more than 50% of what it has, Chinese flag will be hoarding in many northen parts of India. So we are rationally talking about 120 of those at most and to counter 120, 100-120 would suffice. Also while defending against an intruding force, you have all the support you need from SAMs, AWACS and smaller aircrafts that can fire BVRs and WVRs.

These Norway jets most likely been sitting in expensive hangers for most of their lives with it being so cold there. I doubt the engines been worked over much they still have alot of good use in them so it seems like a good buy to me.

Probbly Pakistan airforce is hoping to have inventory of 120 F16 so 20 of the planes form it cna be canabalized if needed for parts

So in end Pakistan Airforce Maintains 100 F16 fleet


Also with introduction of AESA F16 , there could be possibility to eqiup some of the fleet with AESA radars which will greatly enhance the capabilities

A bold move - Much neede one

But I am more interested in hearing about the J10B in our fleet

Logically we know we will not get F35 JSF ... that is 100% sure

So might as well build our F16 , Thunder and J10B fleet up

Since these F16 are for Sea Operations they might be direct replacement for Mirages - as well

Block 52 standard with NV cockpits - AN-APG 68V(9) - sinper - AIM-120B/C/D - AIM-9x- Joint helmet mounted cuing system configuration.

If we receive these - All of Pakistan Air force's viper fleet would be Block 52 and Block 52+ standard.

I say go for them and later buy from Turkey too

If you have few spare Billion dollars in capital that you can donate to PAF to jointly develop a fifth generation fighter with China then bring them forward.

we are just acting out of necessity and lack of resources , what makes you think if PAF had the right budget they would have been buying these used vipers ?
