Pakistan, France agree to enhance trade, defence ties

PARIS: Pakistan and France on Monday moved closer to initiating a framework for strategic dialogue focusing on increased interaction in political, trade and economic areas besides upgrading their defence and security ties.

Briefing the media about Zardari’s second visit to France, the president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar quoted him as saying that Pakistan attached great importance to the ongoing defence cooperation, including the upgrading of Agosta class submarines, with France.

In light of the fact that we need Marlin SSK and Avionics for JF-17, i think upgradation of Agosta is the least of our concerns.

I won't believe anything unless the Air Chief Marshal or Naval chief visited France and concluded deals.

This after the frnch have banned the burqa?? (no offence.. please take it light hearted)

Burqa is not Islamic but cultural. Hijab is the maximum dressing that Islam expect from women as at Haj, women dress to be most pious of all times and at the maximum time of piousness, they wear Hijab. Banning of Burqa is not offensive to Pakistan in any way. BUT there are sections in society who believe Burqa to be legitimate and justified and those could be angry and offended.
