As of now the concentration is on Al Khalid 1 which is a radically improved variant of the original Al Khalid. Al Khalid 2 will be in a different (heavy) category comprising a 1500 hp engine, third generation thermal imager, new fire control system based on a new and more powerful ballistic computer, new laser range finders, new autoloader supporting Long Rod shells, fully automatic transmission with new suspension for hull down-turret down support (similar to k-2 black panther). R&D is at an early stage but it will benefit from Turk Altay and Chinese Type 99 a2 technology and will also feature heavy armor.

Regarding the Long Rod Shells, Pakistan made contracts with French Nexter and South Korean Poongsan to establish them locally. Even Al Khalid 1 will be capable to support it hence the improvement was made in the autoloader.

If u r talking about the russian IFV, then it means "Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty" in russian and in english "fighting vehicle of infantry". There are three variants BMP1, BMP2 & BMP3 is the latest variant.

Well there is no confirm cost of AK, but rough analysis says that 3 to 4 AK come in the price of a single Abram tank, which is around 4.5M$ to 5.0M$, if am not correct. So AK would be roughly 1.0M$ to 1.5M$.

The current Al Khalid 1 standard as offered to KSA with all sorts of up gradations and gadgets coupled with 120 mm smooth bore cannon ranges around $2.5 to $2.8 million per tank. Very competitive price if you ask me as compared to other options with similar capability.
