all uav only fly at relatively low speed, with minimal maneuver(other than turning to change direction and altitude)

these UAVs cannot do dogfighting like a fighter aircraft. UCAVs(at least the one that the US,UK,Japan and china are developing) are all meant for ground attack

This article is wrong. No, drone strikes aren't lethally accurate. Check the Human Rights issues on these.

Why would you need a dogfight when there will be no dogfighting aircraft? You can already see that happening as the world has switched to BVR and stealth.

The article is not wrong its just they are not looking at the other side of the picture, These machines have been used against an enemy who doesn't have the capability of QAR (Quick Airborne Response). We can only tell when these unmanned systems go head to head with a military which has Ground -to-Air weapons and Air-to-Air. Since the birth of these systems they have been used against countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and in Pakistan. In case of Pakistan the GOP allowed them to bomb the tribal Areas.
So yes as of right now the picture is telling us that the unmanned systems rule the skies.

For the member above on the BVR my friend the American said the same thing about missiles in Vietnam war and the F-4s were in trouble.

if that's the case then many major power would never spend billions of dollars on training and simulation(Red flag,FPDA,etc)?

they are here to stay. the whole "the next gen aircraft will be be unmanned" thing are only being thought by the american and some NATO countries.

other countries will still going to make manned aircraft

For The US or any other country to use drones to kill someone, it has to have access to that countries air space through politics. Otherwise drones are for spying missions.

"the next generation aircraft will be be unmanned" this technology will be available to any country with a global satellite coverage.
But it is very dangerous, since many countries can blind satellites or even destroy them, hence the need for manned fighter aircraft,

    Sir,

Vietnam era missile example does not seem proper at this time.

Remember the 60 's era computers----and see what we have now---it is the same difference in missile technology---.

These UAVs seem to be for precision bombings only for sitting ducks or for Intelligence gathering...

A real unmanned Aircraft will need some robotic piloting system involving super computer programming covering every field of aerial combat roles; Superiority, ground attack, reconnaissance, dog fights and bombing, developed with assistance from experienced pilots, flight engineers and aerial combat experts.

It will be like programming with complete possibilities and probabilities of a chess game, which was done already.

I am only sure about 50%, coz there are also programs of 6th Generation fighters which means that we will need man aircraft in future as well.
