If we took money out of our defence budget to put into economy and education systems, then i would have agreed with the principle of 'running out of cash for military'. Not to mention, during Musharraf's tenure, $15-20 Billion came into to our country from U.S alone. But having seen Pakistan not making mind on where to allocate their expenditure, i have come to a conclusion that there is either disorganization of the country's budget due to poor governance, or there is corruption involved within....

On the $15-20 billion figure I recently heard a talk show 'Sochta Pakistan' in which Ejaz Haider - a prominent columnist - asserted that of those $20b only around $7.5b has been in the form of aids or grants whereas the rest of it is coalition support for expenses incurred in providing services in the WOT ! I've heard similar assertions from others as well so I'm not sure if we had much in the way of such 'funding' that could have been used to fund 'Capital Acquisitions' !
And no one is saying that 'we're running out of cash' but simply that we've got scare resources, some deep sh*t that we had to contend to for the past couple of years and the usual expenses that the military had to incur ! Between the three of them we didn't have enough extra funds lying about to procure half the things that we'd ideally want us to have !
Every country has it's own defence requirements and operational doctrines, one could argue that India after 50 years is still flying the MiG-21, while we have retired both the F-6 and A-5, which came into service much later than MiG-21.
Our next goal is to replace old Mirages and F-7s with the much more capable JF-17 and once this renovation is complete, we analyse our future needs. Currently all the loop holes are being plugged amicably to meet any future challenges.
According to my sources, both FC20 and in a few years time a 5th Generation Chinese fighter, will join PAF.
Pakistan has paid the price for Afghanistan, co-operating with the U.S., first against the Soviet occupation and then in the war on terror. In that war it has lost 5,000 troops and policemen, more than all NATO fatalities in Afghanistan. It has lost about 37,000 civilians to terrorist attacks and collateral damage — nearly 10 times those killed on 9/11. While it got $10 billion from the U.S., it has lost an estimated $100 billion in foreign investments in the last decade.
So yes Money is the Problem and one can see why but till WOT is not under control we will struggle but after that hopefully it will be smooth sailing.
I dont know why china would give its latest tech to pk if zardari &co are going to sell of all info to US.......
we should sale whole pakistan .,,, that wway our mil inc can have decent money..
i dont see any other way to fulfill their needs..
Bit off topic but Indian army has money and still cant get any weapons according to their chief of army. Maybe all money goes to corrupt and no weapons are really purchased anyway lol
Well Pakistan in general has problems with cash and it will reflect everywhere.
