People sometimes really go mad about their wishful dreamy world. Look at PN, it hardly has a good number of surface fleet or look at it submarines only 3, look at its maritime aerial petroling capability. and people here just start threads on what someone said. people wakeup please. This is the same PN that operates decades old heli's, MPA aircrafts and they cann't even replace them, and we here are discussing what role J11B would have in PN.
PN should better buy more submarines and atleast should have 10 subs, should better focus on more F22p's or any other frigates like type054.
And should get atleast 2 dedicated sqds on JFT. or may be in future If we can afford than 1 sqd of FC20 with 2 JFT sqds.

Those Agosta 70s are very old and can't match Indian subs, two Pakistani Agosta-90B do not have MESMA AIP system, also Chinese subs are not coming anything soon.

*Pakistan need to purchase MESMA air-independent propulsion system for 2 Agosta-90b subs.
    * first Yuan (2nd block) Chinese subs will be available sometime in next
    2 years.

    Known differences include:

A Chinese IRST set located in the centreline position as with the OLS-27 in early Su-27S.

A planar array multimode radar which resembles the Phazotron Zhuk-27 series. It includes an IFF interrogator array.

An Onboard Oxygen Generator System (OBOGS). Only the most recent Russian variants have an OBOGS.

A unique glass cockpit design, with an asymmetric layout quite different from the Su-30MKK/MK2 and Su-27SMK.

An optical MAWS system claimed to operate in the UV band.

Dielectric panels on the stabilators not seen on any Russian variant.

Chinese have reduced the RCS by 8 times. This makes J-11B, the flanker with lowest RCS

The differences between the J-11B, Su-27SK and Su-27SMK are sufficiently great that this must be considered a unique offshoot of the Flanker family of fighters, not a subtype of the baseline Su-27SK/J-11A.

Su-30 has got its Variants like Su-30 MKI & MKM which have canards where as other variants like Su-30 MK & the Chinese SU-30 MKK have got no canards.[COLOR="Silver"]

    !

thanks for the post sir....if you dont mind, share your source?

dont wanna put you on the spot, but just want to see where the infos came from

i think its a promising aircraft and we should closely monitor the program and procure if it meets requirements

Sorry those 2 Agosta70's are 3 decades old and i don't think one can count them as any thing comparable to new subs. i would say go for 2-3 merlins rather J11B's. our Navy's primary job is to protect our economic blockade so the best thing to go for is subs. so 3 agosta90, 6 chinese subs plus 2-3 merlins would be good enough.

Interesting thoughts : Success rests on out thinking the opponent. Will Subs be potent enough to break the shackles of a blockade if P-8Is occupy the airspace.

    Just a thought.

    Ramu,

How stupid do you have to be, in order to derail this thread? By bringing in your non-sense Indian Navy thoughts here?

There is an entire Indian Defence section on this forum, just for your pleasure. Please post your stuff there and no one will stop you.

ALL 3 Agosta 90Bs have the AIPs, and all new Chinese Subs will be having AIPs. Agosta 70 are due for a new combat management system which shall make them more lethal for time being. No news or confirmation yet though.

Has this been confirmed by PN? Could you provide any link that support AIP for other 2 Agosta 90b?

PN needs 8 MRTP-33s and at least 10 advance missile boats.

I jus said subs can be taret practice for P-8Is if air defence is not strengthened. Anyways, no point in arguing with people who look at every post from an Indian as a flame bait.

He just spews hatred nothing more.... On topic I think PAF has some dedicated mirages for maritime patrol I think, if am not mistaken it will be replaced by thunders. Again you do have valid point here, P8 will be escorted by most probably MIG 29. PN surely needs to look into that.
