Berlin, Germany, 12 November 2008: General Tariq Majid, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) spent a busy day here in Berlin. CJCSC called on General Wolfgang Schniederhan, German Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Mr. Reinhard Silberberg, State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office.
CJCSC was received by General Schneiderhan at the Ministry of Defence followed by a guard of honour. Both leaders held a one on one meeting and discussed regional security situation, bilateral military to military cooperation and specific measures to bolster the ties between two Armed Forces. During the delegation talks, the German Deputy Chief of Staff gave a detailed briefing covering German security perspective and transformation of German Armed Forces. General Tariq in his remarks said that there is a greater need to interact for a meaningful dialogue and understand each other’s points of view, which will help in achieving the ultimate aim of bringing peace and stability to our region and the world at large. It is in this context that Pakistan seeks enhancement of cooperation with important countries like Germany. We greatly value our relations with German Defence Forces that we have built over the years and look forward to making these more robust, multidimensional and mutually beneficial.
During the discussion with German State Secretary of Federal Foreign Office, both sides agreed that there can be no “Quick Fixes’’, particularly in the complex psycho-social environment of Afghanistan and Pak-Afghan border region. It is impossible to get rid of violent extremism by military means alone, a comprehensive strategy based on political engagement and socio-economic development, backed up by essential credible military force is needed to create an environment inhospitable to terrorism and extremism.
On 11 November, CJCSC held extensive talks with Mr. Franz Josef Jung, Minister of Defence and Dr. Heusgen, Advisor to the Chancellor on Foreign and Security Policy. CJCSC said that Pakistan is a nation with progressive aspirations and strong belief in co-existence with all its neighbours, especially Afghanistan and India. Therefore, it is playing a central role towards the stability of the region and proactively supports all efforts for building a peaceful and stable neighbourhood. Both the officials appreciated Pakistan’s comprehensive approach and efforts to fight terrorism and to bring peace and stability in the region.
Later in the evening a dinner was hosted by General Schneiderhan, German CDS in honour of the CJCSC, which was attended by senior German officials.

Not only the submarines, look their inventions in aviation in the WW II. And also take a look on the Leopard Tank. It's one of the best of the world.

Deutsche Handarbeit ist immer noch am besten!
