Every one knows Pakistan is helping the Taliban. Not a secret. They are looking for their own geopolitical interests. Pakistan would deny this of course. What I don't understand is why Pakistan is not brokering a peace agreement between the two.

Who is telling the Haqquanis and the Talibs to set bombs off on busy streets, in markets... ? The U.S. ? If they would stop that crap, things could be a lot better there.

Why don't you take care of the thousands of crimes going on in the US on a daily bases.
The US is creating these media hypes all over the world to hide its own real street terrorism.

    you might be confused, brother......

we recommended to the NATO occupation forces that they sit down and enter negotiations with taleban YEARS ago. They declined, and i can't blame them since at that time the talebs were weakened and in disarray. Now they are stronger than ever and pretty much calling the shots in a good portion of the country. Now as all NATO's gains are either in question or overtly being reversed, they are being FORCED to the negotiation table. New polls show that popular public support for the war in Afghanistan has fallen to very low level (27%, with only a paltry 8% ''strongly'' favouring the war) --> American support for the war in Afghanistan at an *all-time low: poll* - NY Daily News

and with another incident in the past 24 hours, involving airstrikes on civilian targets (which killed over 20 Afghan civilians) I think things will get to the point where we want to distance ourself from NATO as much as possible!

what is curious is that your country, Saudi Arabia, also supported the Taleban regime at one point in time but now seems to be very quiet and mysterious about it. It's no secret that funds from your country are still making their way to the Taleban resistance. Why is your side so quiet about it?

from: US committee bill places conditions upon aid to Pakistan | DAWN.COM

WASHINGTON: The US House Armed Services Committee has placed strict conditions on the financial and military assistance being given out to Pakistan.

The committee, in the defence budget bill, asked Pakistan to openly support America in the war against terror. It further asked Pakistan to stop the supply of explosive materials used in IED’s to Afghanistan.

The American authorities maintained that the explosives, that were being sent to Afghanistan via Pakistan, were responsible for the deaths and injuries to American troops and that this situation is totally unacceptable to the US.

The said defence budget bill, that already is supported by the representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties, would be presented in the next session.

    Wow!

But wait! The US has not reimbursed over $3billion in CSF arrears to Pakistan since 2010, so this bill changes things how exactly?

No one knows yet - it has yet to become law.

But the effect can already been seen, even though it is just a proposed bill and not yet law:

from: Pakistani stocks down for second consecutive day | DAWN.COM

KARACHI: Pakistan stocks dropped for a second consecutive day on Friday with investors concerned about the possibility of the US Congress imposing more conditions on American assistance and trade with Pakistan, analysts said.

The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-share index ended 1.32 per cent, or 189.7 points, lower at 14,230.49 points, with a volume of 195.7 million, compared to Thursday’s close of 14,420.19 points.

The news of possible strict conditions on American aid to Pakistan kept the mood at the market negative,” said Atif Zafar, a research analyst at the JS Global financial services company.

The US House Appropriations Subcommittee for State and Foreign Operations on Thursday approved a bill that would attach additional conditions to any civilian or military aid to Pakistan by demanding it help more in combating militant groups and disrupting networks providing material for homemade bombs being used against NATO forces in Afghanistan.
