ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party’s Senior Vice Chairman stunned everyone outside the Parliament yesterday when he said, “I call upon the people not to pay electric bills if they do not get regular power supply.”

Breaking a 5-month silence for being ignored for the post of premiership by party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, the widower of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Amin Fahim, said “the Pakistan People’s Party belongs to Bhuttos and not Zardaris.”

Fahim is still the president of Pakistan People’s Party (Parliamentarian) as registered by the Election Commission.

Calling for the restoration of democracy and restitution of judges, he said “the PPP struggled and offered great sacrifices but at present the party is drifting from its basic principles.”

Meanwhile, tomorrow will be the birthday of Benazir Bhutto. A strong anti-Zardari faction of the PPP led by Amin Fahim, Aitzaz Ahsan, Naheed Khan, Sen. Safdar Abbasi, leader of the house in the Senate, Raza Rabbani, and many other diehard supporters have announced plans to hold a public meeting at Liaquat Garden, where Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on Dec. 27, 2007, while Zardari will supervise a blood donation ceremony at Naudero, the hometown of the Bhuttos.

I'm waiting to hear that Musharraf is behind all this and he fooled Aitizaz Ahsan to revolt against Zardari and more over it was also Musharraf who advisd Zardari to hijack Bhutto's dynasty

There is a saying in Pakistan if you make donkey the chairman of PPP, the diehards (Jialas) will happily accept donkey as their leader.

zaradari is an inept leader he is nothing. the real leadership does lye with amin fahim and the rest of the people in the PPP who actually did something to get into power not just marry into it.

Fahim is the the only one in the PPP that I trust. The reason being he is control of himself, not like Gallini, who gets orders from Mr.10%.

The real leaders of PPP are just sitting and watching Zardari. Zardari sidelined them and brought in new players like Sherry, Rehman malik.

It was obvious something was up.

I would find an amin fahim led PPP acceptable to a Zardari led PPP.

I agree with this view, Fahim came across like a more sensible person with leadership qualities who would have put governance of the country first and not consolidtion of his own position.

His frustration is quite understandable.

His frustration is quite understandable.

In my view the only differnece will be that Gilani is Zardaris man whereas Fahim will be Musharraf,s man. This will be touted in the next few days. I still say let this circus go on to its logical ending. Hopefully from this turmoil will come people who would want to do something for Pakistan for a change rather than filling their own pockets(at least not too much!!!)

Who allowed Zardari back ? Care to take a guess ?

NRO allowed Zardari all alike back to Pakistan.
Earlier Zardari was also set free by Musharraf from his years long jail.
