Dubai-Peshawar flight lands in Karachi after windscreen cracks

KARACHI: The windscreen of the plane on flight from Dubai to Peshawar developed some cracks that necessitated its safe landing in Karachi.

PIA sources said that Dubai-Peshawar flight PK-284 was diverted to Karachi and made a safe landing after the windscreen of the plane Airbus A-310 had developed some cracks.

PIA spokesman said that the plane after necessary repair would be leaving for Peshawar at 12.30 PM. He further said that it was not the windscreen but the side screen that had developed some cracks, which necessitated the flight’s landing in Karachi.

If the crack is on the inside, it is more hazardous than the outside crack.

The registration of the A/C was AP-BEQ, according to the link.Incident: PIA A313 near Karachi on Oct 12th 2011, cracked cockpit window, the flight went back to normal service after delay of 9 hours.
