Well guess what. That list doesn't include India. And since that list was not prepared by us, but US, it is reflective of their view. Not ours. Surprise, surprise. They seem to think that India is "superior and tolerant in comparison" to all the nations listed.

I feel that the Indians, particularly the Hindus, have purposefully sidelined a point raised by many on this thread including myself; this point alone is sufficient to declare India as an intrinsically intolerant state.

What issue? The issure you are talking about have been discussed mllion times in other threads. Does india have some issues with its extrimist? Yes, there are extrimist within each community and country. This reposrt was done by third party not indian organization.

Yes this is a problem within Hinduism but gues who formed the government in India's most populated state? You will get your answer if you do some search. This is very big problem backward and areas of Orissa, Bihar, UP and Jharkhand. But slowly it is fading away in more prosprus areas.

My Pakistani Friends, Don't get offended by this.Just because an Indian posted this does not mean we should be offended.Obviousely this also exists in India but that does not change the fact that we must improve Pakistan and make sure other minorities are not hurt.Just because India is that kind of country does not mean Pakistan has to treat Sikhs like Indians treat Muslims in India.Pakistan does not have to massacre minorities just because India does it.

Throughout the discourse of this discussion I have not defended anything; in fact, I emphatically stated that no Pakistani is happy about the current state of Pakistan.

What I cannot tolerate however, is the notion that India is to be regarded as tolerant just because it did not appear on the list (like Israel).

Realise that as long as the caste system remains, and as long as people are condemned to the gutters just because they were born into a certain family, you will be regarded as intrinsically intolerant.

I got the feeling that you were turning a blind eye to this….

In conclusion, neither of us should be happy about the situation in our respective states.
