Ladies and Gentlemen,

If any of you are looking to donate to the ongoing aid work for provision of relief to the IDPs of swat conflict, the government of Pakistan and the NWFP provincial government have established a portal which is accessible at: helpidp.org - Emergency Response Unit, Govt. of NWFP, Pakistan

Here you can donate online, see the number of registered IDPs, check which orginisation is working where and doing what, so if you want to give your money to a specific NGO i.e: Hilal -e-Amer, Red Cross Society or Islamic Relief you can know what they are doing and where.

Hope this helps, lets help our brothers and sisters in this hour of need.

I want to send a money order (Western Union) via mail, please tell me how I can do this...What is the exact mailing address I checked the website it says. Though I am unsure still....

Brother, best to wire transfer it if you have a bank account. That way you wont lose your money and you can trace the payment all the way to the bank.

If all that fails, you can send a payment order to the account by mailing it to the bank, but a major word of warning.

Pakistani post is very unreliable when it comes to chq's... Send it via Fedex, DHL, TCS/OCS...

Best way forward is to do a bank to bank wire transfer, ask you bank about the service, a very small fee involved and all you need is the bank details for the recipient, which i believe you have.

There are hundreds of cases of individuals housing IDPs, in Rawalpindi a guy has rented 30 houses to provide shelter to the IDPs from SWAT. This is very generous but very bad in a way too. These people will not get registered and will miss out of the financial and food aid provided by the UN, WHO, UNHCR, WFP, GOP etc...

Registration is becoming a problem. The gov and un estimate that upto 1million people are living off camps. Many moving far away from the fighting travelling as far a field as karachi.

Dear Friends
I belong to the village Pir Baba, District Buner, NWFP which is the main war effected area. My father after a struggle of 40 long years could hardly establish a very small business and a village house which all ruined in this war and my entire family has been displaced from Buner to Rawalpindi and currently I am the only person who is taking care of almost 12 people . Even, I didn’t have sufficient space to provide them a proper shelter and other necessities of life.

We have lost every thing including our house hold, our cattle and a small piece of cultivated land.

Now on emergency basis we need 3 Mattress (bedding foams), 2 number of pedistal fans and one Chatayee.

it is requested to all those friends who can help us; to provide me possible help as it is very hard to meet the two ends and to provide even basic necessities of life like food and shelter to my family.
Hope that your good self will take an immediate action and will help me. I will be very much thankful, obliged and will pray for you forever
