ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s recent directives to promote several junior officers to the higher grades have been challenged in Supreme Court (SC) Tuesday.
SC has also stopped appointments of new lecturers in Model Colleges of Islamabad.
In the current month the PM issued directives to promote over 50 officers to the posts of the Federal Secretaries.
A senior officer of the Income Tax Group Nazeer Ahmed filed a petition in SC against these directives, pleading that junior officers have been promoted instead of their seniors.
Meanwhile a bench of SC, headed by Justice Raja Fiaz conducted the hearing of the case of the lecturers appointed in the Model Colleges of Islamabad and gave ruling not to appoint the new candidates in place of the lecturers working on daily wages basis since many years in the aforementioned educational institutes of the Capital.
