PEF to provide Rs10m for education of poor kids

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will provide an amount of Rs10.05 million for free education of 30,000 poor children belonging to slums and underprivileged areas of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Kasur and Multan, says a press release issued here on Sunday.
This was stated by Punjab Education Foundation Managing Director Mohiuddin Ahmad Wani while addressing an awareness camp established by the PEF to foster public understanding about the Education Voucher Scheme for the people of Naseerabad, Rawalpindi. He said that the scheme is useful for poor children who cannot join other schools due to their socio-economic deprivations.
The PEF will introduce 1,000 vouchers in the Rawalpindi city. The camp was attended by a large number of poor people who got themselves registered for the Education Voucher Scheme of the Punjab Education Foundation.
