ICT-fund was a good initiative that could help some good projects for benefit of society, but like so many other examples in Pakistan, a good concept was destroyed when a bunch of ***** were given responsibility to make it happen and a big joke of a good concept is being made. After few years time of its inception, ICT fund is no more successful than Pakistan Railway and Steal Mill. Since its inception, there is no single success story. It was no surprise specially when I had first hand experience of dealing with this fund and its dishonest as well as highly incompetent people. You tell them a concept, they will use delaying tactics, make carbon copies of concepts, distribute to their relatives etc, turn your concept down using lame excuses and most likely bagging commission and kick backs. Next when an employer want to hire from this Fund, make note that you are hiring an incompetent dishonest crook who will spread cancer in your organization and take it down.

The examples of bogus project with names like Shahid Masood, Jahangir Ikram, Nadeem Khan (who are professors of Lahore University of Management Sci) shows how corruption is present every where in our society. These professors should be placed on exit control lists and should be punished to set examples for others, that a noble profession of teaching should belong to noble people. They did damage to the nation and nation should try them in court for being traitors. These professors should be pushed to name other members of this criminal gang. There should be investigation if LUMS administration is also involved in this eat it together game (LUMS has placed its former professor as ICT Fund CEO to strengthen the looting game?).

Pakistan should not be a threat to any other country, it has enough enemies of its own to eat it from inside. We don't need India or Israel or others to damage us, we have parasites in abundance that are everywhere in every department.

Well Mr. Mafya, what is chance if am just making accusations or there is really something fishy? What is the chance of corrupt incompetent people to be found in such a place in Pakistan (what is its rank in corruption?) You are implying there is no corruption possible in Pakistan? You are implying Pakistanis made good plans for future? (hint: load shedding) Give me a break. Go and ask ICT RnD of how many things they supported that created jobs, improved society, increase GDP etc etc, which was their mandate.

My humble suggestion is that to stop this failed organization and operators should demand their money back because somehow this initiative had failed and money is most likely flowing into and is preyed on by different sharks. After dealing with this organization, I have come to conclusion that somehow Pakistanis cannot be trusted to run this kind of fund. I don't know an example in our history where Pakistanis have not made a mess of a good initiatives. Maybe someone else can guide me some good examples of merit based and corruption free successful organization in Pakistan because I am getting real pessimistic about ***** able to run a successful organization without corruption, incompetence and nepotism.

What ***** had done to cater for example for "EU's Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development"?

Ata-ur-Rehman sent hundreds of PHDs, where is the impact on society? The real problem in Pakistani society is lack of professional honesty in ALLLLL organizations (Defence organizations are likely exceptions), not necessarily the lack of education. Thomas Edison did not have degree but had professionalism and honesty to do right things and he changed the world. Thousands of PHDs present in Pakistan failed to do innovation and failed to help this country because of professional as well as intellectual dishonesty . These are PHDs who are involved in running these organizations. They may have passed their thesis but failed to passed honesty test. As a result they destroyed future of this country. This organization was very strategic as there is no other system for promoting innovation in Pakistan. These dishonest PHDs destroyed this organization and therefore need to be punished to inculcate professional honesty in other organizations.

It is better if operators get this money back and use this money to get 3G license in Pakistan so that our society move forward with positive effects of latest communication technologies. The bunch of people who are entrusted to run this fund will make a joke of it, wont progress themselves and wont let others to progress.
