The good nation of Pakistan can only grow and provide a better life to all, not just a ruling elite, to all of the citizens from sweepers up to top folks. What to me is the biggest problem for and in Afghanistan is the fact that the various provinces in Afghanistan are like the N. parts of Pakistan, very decentralized, left on their own historically with little uplifting economic, security, educational, health or housing assitance from a national, wouldbe centralized single governance system.

Politely said you have to understand how to synthesize cross cultural comparisons, which is what this did. I am sorry you do not understand this fact.

Is it fair to pretend that terrorism, Islamic heretics, only exist in SW Asia? Nope, we have some exported such types here in the US, too. If you stop to think instead of attacking anything written from a Western comparative perspective you would have understood and can still understand that it is only fair and balanced to note that we all are up against religiously based acts and attempted acts of violence. I could have thrown in the UK bus and subway bombings in 2007/2008 for further comparisons, or the Islamic terrorist bombings in Spain, etc. Or the latest terrorist bombings in Moscow.

Think a little bigger than Raymond Allen Davis, and this is his real name, never had any other name, and think beyond a failed stick up to the frequent terrorist bombings in Lahaore the day before the failed Davis robbery and the failed minority sect Muslim religious holiday mosque bombing about 5 days after the Davis incident. The point is to think broadly and look at comparisons of other violence where many Paksitanis are being murdered by their own people in the name of a heretical unwelcome by all moderate Muslims I personally know a radical form of terrorism hiding in the guise of a faith whose very name I am regularly told means Peace.
