    Default Pakistan wants peace, but will not compromise: Kayani

    Today: Saturday, January 17, 2009

    Pakistan's Army Chief General Ashfaque Parvaiz Kayani on Saturday said his country wanted to defuse tensions with India following the Mumbai terror attacks but without any compromise or under pressure. Kayani made this statement while meeting visiting British Foreign Secretary David Miliband here in Islamabad, a private TV reported, citing sources."Pakistan desired dilution of tension and peace in the region," Kayani reportedly told Miliband, but made it clear that no compromise would be made on the security of the country. He said that Pakistan Army was ready to meet all eventualities. Miliband, in his response, told the Pakistani general that war would not help any side to gain anything. "War is not in the interest of any one, Pakistan and India should opt for dialogue," he told Kayani and added that Britain would play its role in bringing down the tension between the two neighbouring countries. The ongoing India-Pakistan stand-off following the Mumbai attacks, Pakistan's war against terrorism and other regional issues were discussed during the meeting, according to the report.

    this is why india,s a$$ is burning they are trying to connect pak army and isi to this mumbai drama,they want to demonstrate to the world that these two institutions are not in control of gop and these should be declared as terror outfits (wich is not absoloutely right).
    but they have failed miserabley when the yanks sayed not to bark without evidence.
    if you looked at indian media they were only talking about pak army and isi,one day they dedicated an entire programm on gen.kayani.

    The current Pakistani position of accepting Kasabs nationality and agreeing to begin a probe based on Indian evidence is nothing but a climbdown. Gen.Kayani can keep giving statements like "Pakistan will not act under pressure or compromise", as far as i see it these are for public consumption and to keep the morale of the Pakistan Army high which is already hitting rock-bottom because of operations in FATA and SWAT.

    For this is precise what Kayani had said when the American drones had started blasting paksitani territory in FATA. Stuff like - sovereignty of the country will not be comprised and every paksiatni will defend the country till the last drop of his blood. What happened?? The drones are still blowing stuff up in FATA and the first pakistani soldiers willing to stop it are yet to be seen. Kayani himself seems to have forgotten his own words, well someone should remind him that the people of pakistan are still waiting to see him live up to his words.

    This is why Army runs Pakistan and to remain in Power they have to keep creating troubles... Their gifts to Pakistan;

    1. Yahya Khan - Bangladesh
    2. Zi Ul Haq - Talibanisation, killing Bhutto
    3. Musarraff - Finishing judiciary, killing another Bhutto

    Keep it up guys...

    It is merely a reaction towards all the Indian threats we have received so far.
    Or do you wish that the nation of Pakistan remains silent under all the Indian pressure and bullying?

    P.S.: Guys please keep it civil, don't degrade the thread nor this forum, seriously, i'm not a mod, but it just lowers the standards around here and that's not what people want.

    do u really think so????? if yes then its quite naive of u
    also army cant do anything untill gov allows it to do so. incase of drones army wasnt given the green signal coz they wanted to use diplomacy. and that seemed to have worked or atleast have slowed them down.
    and incase india attacks do u really think gov will refrain from givin a green signal?????
