How can Afghan refugees be repatriated?

We have hosted them for over 30 years and they are still out there. we know they are a big problem not only for economy (esp of NWFP) but are also involved in criminal and terror activities. I once studied crime data of Peshawar and 58 percent of the crimes were committed by Afghan refugees. They are not only and economic and security threat but they also hate Pakistan very much. In this thread I would like we discuss why they are still in Pakistan and how can they be repatriated. No Indians pl.

The ones that want to stay should be given pakistani passports......has it crossed your mind that the Afghan refugees have nothing and thats what leads to crime?

i know them from close for the last 25 years. Believe me giving them our passport would be a big mistake. They are the ones who lay claims on our areas. poison minds of locals. and can be a clout of foreign elements. They are concentrated in NWFP which is already an impoverished and resource stressed province. and they do not intermingle with us. there are very few marriages between us and they keep their distinct culture.

And peace in Afghanistan can only be brought when US and NATO Is out of Afghanistan.

Bring in UN peace keepers or Peace keepers from Muslim countries from arround the world to conduct Free and Fair Elections.

Give all the ethnic groups their due share in government after the elections.

The NWFP and FATA where fine before the US attacked.....was baitullah mehsud an afghan?......how many of the suicide bombers turned out to be afghani?

seal the border ****** , send all the 1000's of Rangers sitting in karachi occupying public buildings ,stadiums and other facilities to afghan border ! Send all of them back home v have done everything we can ,those who are good and professionals should be given pakistani passports.

by law Afghan refugees cannot have Pakistani ID cards. So if they have one its illegal. NADRA has now issued them other cards for three years stay. but not all of them have these cards.

I didnt say BM is Afghan or suicide bombers are Afghan but their involvement in terror activities is not hidden from anyone. of course not all of them are terrorists or criminals. But i can bet no Afghan likes Pakistan.

There where bombing during the zia era that where 100% linked to the afghan govt but we did not start shouting lets throw all the afghans out........if a certain terrorist is an afghani then i agree sentance him and then send him back.

But i can bet no Afghan likes Pakistan.

The thing is if you have such huge population who can be used by your enemies then i think you have to seriously think about them. Iran did the same.

I have come across thousands of Afghans and they blame Pakistan for their problems. They also say they NWFP belongs to them. they don't recognize Durand line as international boundary.

This is one of the reasons that fencing that border is controversial. Actually I would like to know from the Pakistani pashtuns on this forum if they also support the idea of Pashtunistan?

Send all those who are jobless or are invovled in illegal activities.Anyone running legit biz should be given PAK Nationality and it would have been much better for us to bring back Biharis then take these ungreatful sobs.

I am not pushtoon and i want a Pashtunistan......it can be part of a greater pakistan.

Few facts need to be addressed. Two heavily bribed institution of govt of Pakistan, first passport office and national id office employees played vital role in making these illegal afghan refugees legit. Few years back same game played in Karachi when thousands of id cards issued to illegal Bangalies . These culprit officials of these office made billions of rupees and now......whole nation is paying the price. Thanks to Musharraf who adopted strict policy and thanks to US govt who provide equipments and ask govt to Pakistan to be hard liner in national registration process .

can we stop afghan bashing please, they are not refugees, most afghans in pakistan are pushtoons and therefore they are most welcomed.

We the pakistani pushtoons share ancestral, cultural and historical heritage with afghan pushtoons more then any pakistani.

it pains us to hear such comments from respected forum members who should realise they are what they are because of afghan bravery and conquests.
