Political, nationalist leaders released in Karachi, Hyderabad

KARACHI: Authorities in Karachi and Hyderabad have released lawyers, political and nationalist leaders and activists detained for protesting emergency rule.
They were detained under the public order law since President General Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency rule on November 3.
Those released from Hyderabad included PDMA leader and chairman of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party Dr. Qadir Magsi, Jamaat-i-Islami leader Abdul Waheed Qurishi, Muslim League(N) leader Afzal Gujjar and 12 activists of Awami Tahreek whereas 9 lawyers among 61 politicial leaders and activists were released from Karachi Central Jail.
